Female bankruptcy levels on the up
Here here hereA growing number of women are becoming bankrupt as a result of credit card debts and rising household bills, figures showed today.
The proportion of women bankrupts has risen from 42% to 44% over the past year, according to accountants Wilkins Kennedy, which surveyed 1,200 bankrupts across England and Wales. Since 2002, the figure has risen from 32% to 42%.S E R V I C E W I T H A S M I L E

Re: Female bankruptcy levels on the up
My comic strip:
Women: "Oh! Please help us!"
"NANNY STATE TO THE RESCUE!"
Women: "Oh! Thank you Nanny State! We love you!"
"NEVER FEAR LADIES, NANNY STATE IS HERE TO HELP YOU OUT OF ALL YOUR SELF-MADE PROBLEMS! HERE! HAVE SOME MONEY, THAT SHOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM!"
*Hands out money to women*
Women: "Yay! Our problems are temporarily solved!"
"HAHAHA! DON'T WORRY, IT'S ALL COURTESY OF MY SUPER-POWER: SOCIALISM!
HAHAHA!
NOT TO MENTION HARDWORKING MEN! HOHOHO!"
"BY THE WAY LADIES, DON'T FORGET TO KEEP VOTING FOR ME AT ELECTION TIME!"
-----
Basically, what I am trying to say, is sooner or later as this becomes a larger problem, the socialist nanny state is probably going to step in to help women that have gone bankrupt, (most likely through their own fault) with little regard for the outcome.
The government will help women out, simply because they are women in trouble, regardless of whether they actually caused the predicament in the first place.

Re: Female bankruptcy levels on the up
Bo!!ox. So it's not about individual financial mismanagement? Or the fact that house prices and mortgages went sky high after they went two-salary? A single man will have as much trouble affording a house as a single women, because of the number of working wives.Mr Stevens said the problem stemmed from the fact that women's salaries have failed to keep up with their need to be financially independent. Research by Halifax shows the proportion of new mortgages taken out by single women has more than doubled in the last 20 years and now accounts for 23% of the total market.
But what else can you expect from the Grauniad?
Whatever happens to women, it's the patriarchy's fault.
Do they over-spend because they need the retail therapy to cope with their oppression?
I shouldn't still get angry about this ... but I do ...

That's interesting, because in this country it's become almost impossible to declare bankruptcy.

Equality in bankruptcy
Number of women going bankrupt reaches same level as men | Mail Online
Given that there are far more men unemployed than women, I can't see why so many women should be going bankrupt but it has finally equalled the number of men. Since there are more women in the population than men, equality has not yet been achieved but it's close enough.
The landmark highlights an extraordinary social change in Britain from a time when a female bankrupt was ‘virtually unheard of’ to the current debt explosion among women.
...
Mr Sands [head of personal insolvency at RSM Tenon] said the change has also been fuelled by the introduction of a new type of insolvency in April 2009 called a Debt Relief Order, which appeals to many women.____________________________________________
I've had "equality" hammered at me all my life. It's about time I had some of it.
I like females - I admire femininity - I despise feminism

wimyn some way or another by hook or by crook somehow allocate their bankruptcy to the nearest male they have co opted for this role - typically the witless who signed her contract of marriage
