An example: Women deserve maintainance, men are just slackers

Is it true that husbands and men who live with their girlfriends can go to court and get it to order that the wife or the girlfriend must pay money to maintain them? If it is, this would just make men who are slackers become really lazy and enjoy living off us women. So tell me please, if it is really so or not.
