Ever got Banned at a Forum for Expressing your Opinion?
Did you ever get permanently banned at a forum simply for expressing your thoughts or opinion on a matter?
Here we support the freedom of expression: as long as it doesn't contain unnecessary cursing.
People who disagree are free to say that. Misinformation gets debunked or clarified via discusion. Freedom of expression is a fundamental human right.
However, some public forums and websites are inconsiderate for different view points. If you don't agree there, you'll get banned, even without a warning or reason.
People can run their forums as they see fit, but it's not worthwhile to stick around a place that only allows one school of thought to be expressed.Last edited by Tyrael; 12th-December-2009 at 02:58 AM.

~ Feminism = Every bad thing any man has ever committed highlighted and exaggerated; every bit of good systematically undermined, vilified or ignored. ~

~ Women deserve only equal opportunity, not equal outcomes. ~

~ Everybody makes choices, and nobody should be entitled to special treatment because of those choices.
Equal results based on unequal treatment amounts to no kind of equality at all. ~

Re: Ever got Banned at a Forum for Expressing your Opinion?
I remember being banned from a summer camp for putting some loud mouth trollop in her place!
So far as forums are concerned I've never been banned from one!
You probably don't believe that, now do you?

Yep.
I was 'gone, like I was never there'.
But I was in the good company of several other fine MRAs who were also driven off.

Strangely I have never been banned, even not on feminist sites....I guess I am just too nice.
Disclaimer:The men's and fathers' movement needs to make sure it never sees females as the enemy, but only misandry--whether from females or from males. If not, we'll become like the bigoted feminists that this movement was formed to oppose.Glenn Sacks

Re: Ever got Banned at a Forum for Expressing your Opinion?
I have been banned 4 times from QnA (it no longer exists), and twice from Answerbag, all times I was banned for basically having a different viewpoint to others (women mostly).
I now have people who are extremely angry at my bannings who know me from QnA and Answerbag, they know I speak my mind and follow the rules, and the only reason I was banned is because I strongly disagreed with others, they know I didn't deserve it, they've written to the top dogs of the sites to set the record straight, I just dust myself off and go back for more, I don't cry about it.
What's strange is, if I get banned for something, like I was on Answerbag for daring to suggest the wage gap is not due to discrimination, and again for saying that I'd hit a woman who hit me first, it doesn't solve anything, I just go right back and let them have it even worse than before when I go back on the site.
The reason bannings happen, is because unlike real life, people cannot interupt, cut you off, or shout you down, you can be as quiet as a Church mouse on Teusday and still get your point across, this annoys lots of people because before the Internet they could easily shout them down, not so easy now, so now they just report until they're banned, it's pitiful at best.
I can proudly say that I've never downrated or reported anyone on the Internet, I don't even remove negative comments from my YouTube account, such is my belief in freedom of expression.Hugh & Mary Discuss Feminist Related Issues (ALL SUBTITLED): http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...0081D259987DCD

Re: Ever got Banned at a Forum for Expressing your Opinion?
It's usually forums whose debating stance cannot withstand the rigours of open and free debate who'll censor and ban excessively. Feminist forums are undoubtedly the worst offenders in this category.
Here on AM we've strived to maintain free speech since it's inception - whilst maintaining a careful balance with upholding a necessary framework of rules.
And yes, I've been banned from a few feminist forums under different guises.

The internet has been a lifeboat for men's opposition to the floodings of feminism.
