I'm greatful for his attempt, but he should have used statistics more. He made a good point about how even if it's only 2% of males being abused, they deserve protection as well.

I got the impression that he had all sorts of good points to make, but couldn't quite get it out.

I liked his comment about the '1 in 4 women will experiences domestic violence' thing, when he says that it is so against his experience of the world that he doesn't know how people can believe it.

It's interesting that after forty years of feminism, any kind of domestic relationship where the woman "gets taken care of by the man" has become OPPRESSION.

Personally speaking- I like his drive and think he's got a lot of passion within him

I think - if possible - we should contact him and try to broaden our own media somewhat

We have quite a few MRA sites/blogs/forums- which are now well established and we are gaining in numbers quite considerably

Now I would like to see more men- especially those with the technology to use other media (i.e. Youtube) promoting men's rights and exposing feminism for what it is

I think we should compile videos- like Bullbuster- only make more of them and get them promoted

A year ago- we were small

The year before that- smaller

A decade ago- non-existant

NOW- in THIS year- I think we can make some progress- particularly with the way MORE of us are gathering and MORE of us are creating our own types of media to get out to the masses

I agree, he is brave. But it's sad when we have to recognize the bravery of men for simply speaking their opinions in their own homes, by themselves. Why is this a brave act? What does he have to lose by expressing himself in this way? I think many of us on this forum know. If he is a father, he risks losing his children, and financial devastation. If he is a woman's intimate partner, he risks alienation from her sphere of family, friends, and influence. He is also, quite literally, the possible target of violent attacks, libel, slander, terrorist acts, identity theft, stalking, and a host of other maladies simply because he expresses his views.

Yes, he is brave! And as long as we MRAs are committed to illustrating why political expression is itself a brave act (in liberal democracies, no less!), we can highlight the staggering double-standard that seeks to exalt female political thought and suppress male anti-feminist political thought.
