Is the word 'misandry' listed in any of the dictionaries you own?

I own the Oxford Mini Dictionary & Thesaurus - predictably 'misandry' is omitted.

We own a two volume set of the OED with the magnifying glass. "misandry" is listed and references cited over several hundred years.

Dictionaries always reflect the political prejudices of the editors. They usually publish a fictitious deffinition of "sexist" as "discriminatin against women" because they are so very sexist. Leaving out "misandry" is their way of denying that their own bigotry exists.

My 1989 Webster's does not include the term "misandry."

My 1987 Oxford English dictionary does not contain "Misandry"

What burns my ass considerably more than that is the fact I have to turn off my spell checker to even get it to print on a computer screen $^$&^$^%$&^$#%$#

That it is missing is surely a sign of the depth of the problem.

I wouldn't take too much norice of the dictionary, as Bob said, the editors are just normal people, with their own biases and such.

My Microsoft 'Word' recognises Misandry.

My Oxford Concise (1982) doesn't have Misandry in it.

My Dorling Kindersley Pocket English Dictionary and Collins English Dictionary both have the word misandry.

Incidentally what have women ever invented

Dictionary.com has "misandry" listed as "hatred of men." It also says "Compare with misogyny."

Upon following the link I noticed that "misogyny" has twice as many listings and misogyny llistings have longer defininitions and longer explanations.
