Do women need a place of their own?

I don't believe this female meant harm to this site.

jessicaabruno

Newbie to AM and unsure how many other women are there besides me at the moment. Know AM started out as men forums, but ladies of AM need their own section as well.

Hope I made sense here.

She speaks my language and believe me also as you believe yourselves: we are different.

Some women are really comfortable with men but some are not and although every feminists site is devoted to all us women, ... not all agree with it.

But I don't expect men to care for women. Why should they? Feminists don't care for them and most women fall into that ism whether they chose it or not. I totally get the picture.

But when a woman searches for the anti and then asks for a woman's area, what should I as a woman offer her.

Afterall, we are at war whether we like it or not.

And Christian women who talk about making frilly stuff is not a representative of all women even if men want women that way.

My point is, there is nowhere for women yet who are not Biblical women. And until there is men will suffer with women like me on their boards.

Please understand that women too look for answers? As well as support to make changes. And please be kind until we connect.

We men are really suffering with you on this board..
Oh da pain!! The agony!!

No Julie you aren't causing any suffering other than trying to understand what you're talking about sometimes.

If the new gal can't even come talk with the guys how could we trust her on this site in a womens only thread?

Who says men want women that way? My husband would be fairly put out if I started talking about making frilly stuff; I'd go so far as to say he's actually quite happy that the making of frilly objects is NOT something I'm inclined to do or discuss.

As for jessicaandbruno, I agree that she didn't mean the board any harm with her question, but still stand by my response to her that a women's area does not belong here on this board. It does bring to light and interesting concept, though....a board for women who are opposed to misandry. Such boards do exist but, as Julie mentioned, they do tend to be largely conservative Christian. I wonder how well such a board would do outside of the predominantly Christian sphere.

Re: Do women need a place of their own?

So, Marx builds a mansion with many rooms.

He invites everyone to come in and party, talk, have video games, sit and have deep and meaningfuls. Heck, he even says, build a hut in the back yard and I'll make a passageway to it for you.

And some young woman comes along and wants a room of her own.

Virginia Wolfe at least moved out and found one for herself.

Do I see glass ceilings? Do I see walls and laws and a massive feminarchy preventing this young woman building her own friggin' mansion and inviting everyone in?

Ladies, build away. Invite me in. I will come along and join in. Honest.

I have tried all my life to leave the place better than I found it.
But there are 6 billion other buggers out there messing it up.
I am outnumbered.
But...
YOU don't just make a difference,
you make THE difference.

Hey you! Don't you know I am not including you! Gosh, Kim.

You are not the idea young women have in their mind who are not Christians.

I have no more to say because I can only hope you understand the little I write. We have a lot of young women out there.

It was the Ladiesagainstfeminism.org, that I was thinking of, Billy. I've browsed there but don't post. Annette and I joked one time that we weren't too sure of our reception (ya know....a jew and a mormon).

It makes me wonder just how many females truly opposed to misandry could be found amongst the general public when so few can even be found in religious spheres.

Re: Do women need a place of their own?

Donna Burns over at SYG ( I haven't been there for a long, long time) had a women's site. A great girl, Donna - for a feminist.

She attracted all sorts of ladies; mostly those that liked whips and chains.

I think she might have been a Baptist. She liked water too.

Jewish women have a bit of slavery in their history, didn't they?

Re: Do women need a place of their own?

Women-only this, women-only that, followed by mother-only this and mother-only that, are just the type of things most men on this site are dead against, women getting preferential treatment just because of their gender.

This is Antimisandry, it's open to all, there is no need for a women's section on a website like this, it's not as if the women who are here feel they can't discuss things with the men.

If I was on a feminist website, I wouldn't want to be shoved in a box just for men, I want to take the fight/argument right to their faces, not hope that they might take a look in the men's section to see it.

So I would say no, women should not have their own special little thread, if they have anything to say, then say it where everyone else has to, they shouldn't be given any special treatment, so that they learn that the people here treat everyone the same.

Don't even try to pull this crap on me.

I will not be shamed. I have been given permission to be me. So, go and take it out on Counter Feminist. Fidelbogan for others.

Bugger, I did not mean that as a professional. In fact , I would love for him to react.
But seriously, there will be woman side. You have to look ahead now.

Sadly our gouvernmen here seldomly hands out such permissions (and the form is really hard to fill as well)....

So instead of the real me you are just talking to a somehow empty hull wrapped into bits and bytes, deciphered by language barriers transported to you by some hard working inter-tubes. But please pretend it is me. Thx.
