I've been following this story since it came out. Presented this in the most subjective package I could find.

It depresses me too much, the sheer amount of Orwelian disinformation here; it's like the media-facists are in overdrive, this one has pushed all their buttons, a dirty brown man critisizing our rightous, empowered western womyn, all in the name of a filthy brown god!

"Today Tonight", a current affairs show here, actually gave airtime to a comment sent in by one viewer claiming that if she met this man on the street she would cut off his penis.

Am I getting this, he's being deported for offending women?!
Apparently, freedom of speech is alright until women disagree with you or are offended, then its deportation!

I don't understand what he has actually done wrong here. I disagree with people all the time, sometimes I get offended by them, but that certainly doesn't mean they should get deported!
Also, if they deport him for offending women, perhaps they should think about deporting a load of feminists. They make vile accusations against men all the time, but most people in society don't bat an eyelid.

I should probably clarify this story.

His remarks were that every society has a code of what is acceptable dress and that when women flaunt that code it encourages marital infidelity, which is not always the fault of the man for this reason. He used a metaphor about the men being cats and indecently dressed women being uncovered meat. I should also note he made these remarks in a Mosque.

The media has taken this and run so far with it that it's honestly hard to comprehend. The most extreme spin that's been put on his words in my knowledge is that, apparently, his speech declared women who go out in public without headscarves on are asking to be raped, and that furthermore he encouraged lebenese/muslim men to rape women who were underdressed, and that he compared women to meat.

One show even went so far as to bring on a woman who'd been gang-raped some time ago in a racially motivated attack to declare to camera that she was not a peice of meat.

His point seems to be that when women dress seductively, men get seduced. Apparently this is like saying, if a women dresses seductively, men should hump her leg, beat her to death and then devour her flesh. Amazing! I never would of read that much into it. I guess it's a good thing they are deporting him, because who knows what they'll read into what he says next
