I think its about time we bring that independence back. Fuck the fed!
Feminists are absolutely outraged by rape. Unless of course the victims be men, free speech, or the Constitution.

Nah...it had nothing to do with the taste for tea really......what really happened on 04 July 233 years ago was the good kickassing out of the picture the British gave to those troublesome rebels in the far away, remote American colonies....they simply refused to pay their taxes so there was only one feasible course of action to take.....diss them once and for all to go their own sweet way...and look at the mess they've made of everything since!

Seriously and just a bit late from this end.......
Fraternal Greetings to all our cotton pickin' Ex Colonials across The Pond!

Re: on this day in 1776
Strip away the rhetoric and what really happened was that the 'rich rednecks' used the excuse of not wanting to pay 2c on the dollar tax to whip up fury so they could expropriate the investments of several generations of their fellow British countrymen. When South American dictators did that more recently, the USA squealed like a stuck pig and went on about Communism and Nationalisation..
A year after refusing to pay that small tax, which went to their own defence from the French, those stupid rednecks were paying three times as much in 'charter fees' to the Royal Navy to defend them from.... the French.
Now everyone pays 30c tax, plus state taxes and city taxes. Dull buggers.
They got rid of a King and made a President. The Queen today is an unelected hereditary 'President' who stays out of politics altogether and is admired by all worldwide. The President is an elected Monarch who governs by personal whim and is reviled by most of the world including half of those he Rules with secret services, armed police and a tax schedule the envy of the Kremlin.
Americans should be in mourning on July 4th.

What you mean 'YOU', white eyes?
The Queen costs nothing. She is self-funding and provides far more 'Head of State' bang for that buck than your President does.
The Presidential election alone soaks up more wasted media time - and vast amounts of YOUR dollars - every four goddam years, than is spent on the Queen in twenty years.
As for me paying for her. I am in Australia. The Queen of Britain is also the Queen of Australia. And of Canada. And of New Zealand. America is the only anglophile nation that is the odd one out. We don't pay a cent and she lives 12000 miles away and never interferes with us. She pops around for a visit occasionally and it is like welcoming a Granny who we only see once in a while.
I bet you wish you didn't have to have friggin' Obama shoved down your throats every damned night.
