    Consumerist Toilet-Seat Politics

    Consumerist Toilet-Seat Politics

Here in the UK, I recently observed a nauseating tiresome recurrence of an ingrained 'sexist concept' fused into a tv advert promoting bathroom furniture (MFI).

The premise of the advert was couples enacting similar experiences they had in real life, within a showroom setting.

This one particular advert began with a sixty something Asian woman shrieking hysterically at her husband (I'm paraphrasing) "why can't you leave the seat down." The man cowers submissively under her selfish assault of absolute insanity.

Her 'orchestrated' hysteria becomes more audible and animated. "why can't you learn, why do I have to keep telling you."

The scene draws back showing a sales assistant within the now expanded panoramic shot, informing the wife the toilet seat 'automatically' returns to the female default position (seat down).

God, our own male inventions and technology 'now' automating our compliance to the gynocentricity!

Also, this "sexist expectation" of women to put the seat down exemplifies the social/legal disparity that exists between the genders.

The toilet-seat dynamic is a gynocentric training tool to brainwash men into always putting women first regardless of logic/practicality.

That is, even though logical debate could equally argue the case for leaving the toilet seat up, ie better hygiene.

To most men it's seemingly insignificant, so they naturally concede to leaving the toilet seat up.

Unbeknownst to them, it's merely a microcosm representing an infrastructure that adheres to something seemingly so small, yet it's rancid notions spawns entrenched apartheid, managed by hypocritical women grasping onto sexist notions of chivalry, giving birth to disparity in every crime committed, child custody and divorce.

From the seeds of something so inconspicuous as toilet-seat politics spawns a social/legal infrastructure that 'blatantly' discriminates against men, and almost always usurps his dream to be daddy to his children as a indirect consequence.

As an aside, I'd like to call upon all men to purchase some super-glue. With that you shall glue any and all toilet seats in it's upright position to the cistern wherever you may be (preferably with a cheeky attached note explaining why). Why? Need you ask? Collective activism, and confronting womens entrenched hypocritical sexism.

Ah, yes I've seen this advert, and I believe you may have misheard the salesman...

I believe he says: "Soft down..." as he pushes it, meaning it doesn't 'drop' down like most would, creating a loud din on impact. I don't think is about the position of the toilet itself, but rather the sales point seemed to be that it would 'gently' drop down once pushed.

I might be wrong, because although the TV was on - I was not paying attention to it fully.

Wife : "I dreamt they were auctioning off dicks. The big ones went for ten dollars and the thick ones went for twenty dollars."
Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

You know, I never understood this. Can some woman please explain it to me? Why can't a woman simply put the toilet seat down for herself? Isn't she supposed to be strong and liberated and shit? What is she strong, but not strong enough to move a half-pound plastic hoop she needs a man to do it for her?

I have a real moronic-sounding idea, it's called using your hand to grasp the toilet seat and moving it into a down position all by yourself!

If you wanna bitch about something, bitch about traffic. This toilet seat nonsense is just plain laziness.

Women are of the opinion that the house is her stomping ground and she owns it. It also give it something more to bitch and moan about.

Interesting thing is, studies have shown when you leave the toilet seat down it increases bacteria growth exponentially...

But why be practical when you have another bitching topic.

Admittedly it was never a topic at my place even with four kids...

Because women like drama. And putting the toilet seat down themselves would be acting like a mature adult.

Marx, its not so, the whole drift of the advert is ensuring he remembers to leave the toilet seat down! It's gynocentric programming at least!

The insanity was a sixty-year old woman throwing a hissy-fit that would embarrass a woman - a third of her age.

Women have supposedly progressed, yet they selectively decide to digress into choice banality! Disgusting!

No, it's a deliberate expression of control. The toilet-seat dynamic is a training module to indoctrinate men into always acceding to women.

My mom said it was because in the middle of the night in the dark it is too hard to remember to check and it only takes a second for a man to put the seat down. And why do men bitch about putting it back down it's not that hard men must be stupid if the can't put it back down? How lazy do you have to be to put the fucking lid back down you are just like your father and Raymond [a step dad that used to hit her and fight with me after hitting her because I wouldn't allow it]. I asked her why she couldn't turn on the light and check the seat and she told me too get out of her house so I did laughing as I did.

The toilet seat as a symbol.......

This might seem important to people who live in cold northern climates where a warm and comfortable bottom is more important than whether or not you're going to eat today.

Unscrew the damn thing and throw it away. It serves no useful purpose.

    Name one!!!

Personally I never lift the seat up. Just aim for the center. if some gets on the sides a quick wipe with some toilet paper will do.

I have known many women in my time, and not one has ever mentioned this toilet seat thing..

I often wonder if its a real issue?

Any fish who did tell me what to do with the seat would no doubt find it round her neck shortly afterwards!!

I always remember to put it down. I guess it is just force of habit and being considerate. I guess I've been trained well. My mother wanted a clean bathroom and liked everything pink and smelling nice.

Don't you feel more comfortable in a bathroom that's all clean and covered in pink flowers?

Cleanliness is okay, but I can do without the pink flowers.

Whatever floats your boat mangi babes.. Personally, I go to the bog to dispose of waste material, not socialise or meet clients..

I must say, I once went in a city centre bar and dump city was like, fucking awesome, coffee tables, "pot putrid", bowls of frangrance, aquaria, and comfy seating and a collection of bohemian fellows loitering round and casually swapping bodily fluids..
