being single on V-day

after reading the valentines thread-something dyslexic banana said hit a nerve with me(in a good way)

bein single to me,is freedom

freedom from the anguish of being controlled

freedom from the possibilty of divorce

freedom of not walking on pins and needles

it felt like being black mailed 24/7

watching the shit some of my friends go through is ridiculous-especially on vagina day
-but not just that-watching other ppl going through divorce watching how the kids are severely affected by this-the list goes on

i will never ever be in a situation where i have to "suck up" to someone for affection again

Canadian males endure ALL of the risks in a relationship--if she is not happy -she will just move on to the next sucker without a blink of an eye
i have had enough heartbreak in my life to last a lifetime and i love the fact that i am single and can do what-ever i please and never risk that kind of trauma ever again.

From what i see-i have yet met a canadian male in a relationship that wasn't walking on eggshells to "please" his significant other.

I LOVE BEING SINGLE the advantages nowadays far outweigh the disadvantages

i have givin' up on the fallacy of the never-ending pussy because it just doesn't exist anymore

i know my friends are jealous of the freedom i have-but i think its more because of my attitude of being single than anything else

Well I love being free of a hag in my home. I have a FF who releases my valve twice a week.
I have a dog to talk to and tons of friends. The idea of bringing a women into my life and my home is retarded.
My grandfather use to sit on his porch on Saturdays and Sundays and wait for the cars going to the church up the street , when the car with the bride and groom passed he would yell out SUCKER.
God I loved that man.

I miss him every time I see a wedding .

1. Quit your job without giving notice
2. Dislike women
3. Be single
4. Live with your mom

I'm still working on the list. I hope to get it up to 10.

I must agree with this post. I'm enjoying being single myself on this V-day; it struck me when I went to the mall to get some grocery shopping done and saw all the posters and cards plastered everywhere. The mall I go to has no less than three jewellery shops, and every single one of them was filled with men, most of them looked unhappy, and many of the things they were supposed to be buying were quite expensive. Indeed, for a moment I almost drifted in there myself, unthinkingly assuming I had to buy something for the 'girlfriend,' and anticipating that she would dislike it and make a big fuss. When I snapped out of this reverie, I became quite pleased, and on the way out of the mall I purchased myself a new set of speakers which I spent the evening listening to music on. It was an enjoyable day.

This Vday hasn't been spent alone for me either.

In fact, I've had to two drop dead stunners with me all evening.

Really, I have.

I meet up with them every couple of weeks and we do ... 'stuff'... We go feed the ducks by the local park, I take them out for a meal now n' then, we often go for a ride out on a bus or in a taxi... but this week, they decided to stay over the night with me.

Fantastic.

Mind you, they fell asleep by 11pm - merrily snoozing away...

I wanted to take a piccy of them... but, the flash would've stirred their sleep.

Yep, I've got my daughters over for the first time since '05. It feels great

Well. I just spent a little over $900 for a gorgeous ring for my wife a week ago for Valentine's day. When I presented it to her she was breathless! She admired it's beauty for about a minute, then tried it on. Perfect fit! She loved it! Then she said she was going to give me my gift. She passionately kissed me and said, "Sweetie, I don't need to buy you gifts to assure my love for you"

I understand that I don't need material possessions from her, but a small card wouldn't hurt.

I woke up this morning to a Valentine card and a very large V-Day Hershey's bar.

Such a bother.

It isn't just V-Day, I just don't care about holidays at all anymore.

Easter = Spend money day
July 4 (USA) = Spend money day
Thanksgiving = Spend money day
Christmas = Spend money for a month

Blah...I am sick of perverted capitalistic holidays.
