Well "Where there's a step" made no sense, but "Mind the step" makes more sense since it still shows the footage of him tripping, making it seem accidental rather than him just being clumsy.
I'm actually starting to wonder if they changed the original at all, it seems they have more than one intro, I swear, first it was the misandric one, then he became "dad" and he was standing at the sink, then it was "Where there's a step", and now as I write this it's "Mind the step".
I'm getting paranoid here, I think I'm imagining stuff, but maybe they just have different intros, meaning they probably didn't change the misandric one and will maybe still use it, I really don't know but I'll keep my eye out.

As I say, I always have subtitles on, so I heard it and read it, it's either been changed numerous times or they have numerous intros.

I don't think the change in the wording changes the impresion it intends to give. Although they appear to be on a more equal footing, the loss of a good father's image is still readable.

    They should start afresh, frankly.

Re: BBC Remove Misandry From Children's TV Show

Another day, another intro for Tommy Zoom.
Yes, it was different today again, same footage, only this time the dog (voice-over) says "Let's meet the humans, there's mum who is upright, and there's dad who's trying to stay upright".

When I first put the original on YouTube (Ordinary clumsy dad), it was the only intro TZ had, I know this because I saw it, then when it came on again I tried to record it and messed it up, and when it came on again I successfully recorded it, it had the same intro all those times, it was also pointed out to me by several others, who knew it would wind me up, and they too said it was the only intro, one of whom refused to let their son watch the show specifically because of the intro. Now it seems to have the footage from the original, but a different narration every time, so thankfully I'm not going nuts, but I'm still not sure whether or not the original was ever even removed at all, it's just not been spotted for a while.
Sorry if I raised a false alarm, the original may still get aired, but I don't think so.

2 months ago I started this thread, and also uploaded the video to YouTube (also in the thread).
As I write this, the video has been viewed 404 times.
Well, I can't have been the only one that was pissed off at the obvious misandry within the opening titles of Tommy Zoom, where the father is referred to as "an ordinary clumsy dad", the only member of the family to have an adjective, and a negative one at that, because I caught the show earlier on, and the opening title has been completely changed, dad has went from "clumsy dad" to "dad", he's no longer seen falling or dropping things, a very good sign I think.

Now I only posted a video, I'm certainly not trying to take any credit, but maybe all these small things really do add up, maybe highlighting it and complaining is working.
I can't find any official details on why it was changed, they just seem to have changed it without mentioning it, but at least they changed it, I'm guessing due to public pressure.

So I'm going to continue highlighting things like this using the YouTube if possible, because I really believe every little helps.

Congrats either way, even if you didn't directly influence it... And YES the small things DO add up. Nothing we ever do is too little to have effect. Everything little bit helps.
