Barbara Kay: False allegations claim another male victim, this time MP James Moore

Posted: December 07, 2007, 10:21 AM by John Turley-Ewart Barbara Kay

No sooner had I suggested in my Wednesday column this week (Dec 5) that the annual Montreal Massacre tributes were a divisive social force, demonizing men and justifying women’s contempt for them as a gender, than a perfect example of the syndrome was enacted in the House of Commons.

New Democrat MP Irene Mathyssen looked over the shoulder of Conservative MP, James Moore where he sat in the front row of the government benches Tuesday night, and saw what seemed to her to be a seductively dressed woman on the screen of his laptop computer. This is his personal computer, you understand, so her inspection of his screen was tantamount to viewing his private papers or mail, and she had not asked permission or been invited to look at it. Just so we’re clear on the principle.

OK, so let’s start again. Ms Mathyssen was eavesdropping on Mr Moore. She didn’t know who the “scantily clad” woman on the screen was, but having brooded on the possibilities overnight, then rose the next day on a point of privilege to allege he was viewing inappropriate material. The implication in such an allegation, let’s be clear, is that the man is a pervert. As a result a mortified Moore was forced to issue a public denial that he was looking at pornography. Turns out it was his girlfriend. Oops, my bad, Ms Mathyssen realizes, so she calls Mr Moore and apologizes. Case closed for her.

But perhaps not for Mr Moore. He just got put through a bit of a wringer for nothing.

Let’s unpack this incident a bit. What MP would be so idiotic as to take the risk of visiting a porn site in the House of Commons on a computer whose screen is open to any busybody? What was Ms Mathyssen’s motive in “outing” him when she had no evidence to support her supposition? Scantily clad women are all over the Internet and also all over real life. Scantily clad is in fact the norm in fashion.

What would Ms Mathyssen have done if she happened to look over the shoulder of a female MP and actually did see soft porn? Would she rise on a point of personal privilege to humiliate a woman colleague? I think not. I think she would have protected her. And let's not pretend that women never look at porn. Ms Mathyssen clearly relished the opportunity to embarrass a man caught in the act of being a typical man according to the feminist playbook.

Mr. Moore is a victim of a false allegation, whose effects will linger. Because of the hoopla around the Montreal massacre (a completely random act with no sequel), everyone believes women are always the victim in gender relations. If people knew how many men’s lives have been ruined by false allegations of abuse by women, leveled with exactly the kind of insouciance exhibited by Ms Mathyssen, that goes completely unpunished even when it is proved to be false, they might rethink their basic assumptions about who is getting the short end of the stick gender-wise.

Ms Mathyssen should not be let off the hook easily. She supposedly represents both men and women in her riding. If she had so gratuitously insulted a woman, the matter would not go away quickly. The men in her riding would do well to ask themselves if she truly has their interests at heart to the same degree as she has women’s. They should call her to account on her biases, and her vindictiveness and insensitivity toward Mr Moore should definitely be a factor in their minds at the next election.

I'm starting to really like Barbara Kay. I wonder if MAUS has had any dealings with her (Canadian)?

As a matter of fact no. But I have seen an emergence of women writers who are setting up as effective a media counter barrage as our best positioned male gunners have been able to do. It seems that when a woman says it...the femnists might tend to dismiss her as a Judas sheep....but the manginas can't seem to counterbarrage with any firm resolve.

I have frequently used an MP3 of a talk by Wendy McElroy to present the MRA movement to people in positions of power who may have never been exposed to it before.

Absolutely, the male MP's should give her the collective cold shoulder, with male voters avoiding her at the next election.

She supposedly represents both men and women in her riding
Very few female MP's are genuinely consumed by the concerns of men. Neither are many male MP's for that matter!

(James Moore - Cons) Mr Speaker. A Point of Order.

(Speaker) Yes, Mr Moore. You have the floor.

(Moore) Mr Speaker, I draw members' attention to the arsewipe Ms Mathyssen's unfounded attack on the Character of one of Her majesty's loyal subjects' representatives. That excuse for a lobotomy survivor contavened Standing Orders by corruptly reading the email of another member of this august Parliament. This is, I understand, still a hanging offense in The Commonwealth of Canada. (shouts of 'ang the bitch, eh).

Further, Mr Speaker, she used her short sighted, squinty eyed glimpse at one such email - from a constituent , Mr Speaker, a CONSTITUENT, Mr Speaker who has a right to having her confidential communications kept confidential, Mr Speaker, and not hawked around the chamber like Ms Mathyssen's toy-boy Toby, whom I understand she leads around with a chain attached to his collar and keeps chained to the foot of her manky bed, of which, Mr Speaker, I am lead to understand she has not taken the sheets off for six weeks. SIX weeks Mr Speaker. I draw the Minister for Health's attention to both Ms Mathyssen's sheets and her need for spectacles., Mr Speaker. (Cries of , the Sheets, the sheets, poke her in the eye, eh)

Mr. Speaker, my constituent sent me a privete photo of herself, PRIVATE and confidential, Mr Speaker, dressed in shoddy clothes produced in Mathyssen's own constituency, Mr Speaker, by one of her constituents, Mr Speaker, clothing made by women, for women, Mr Speaker, in apalling conditions. In this cold weather. Mr Speaker, my constituent was providing proof, Mr Speaker, clear evidence that her clothes barely covered her private parts, let alone kept her warm and protected from the harsh Manitoba winter. Please note Mr Speaker that she is from Manitoba and not Womanitoba. (cries of Private mail. Private parts)

Further, Mr Speaker, Ms Mathyssen's playground attempt to get me into trouble with the teacher by accusing me of reading 'innapropriate material' was in fact a wormy and immature attempt to ingratiate herself with the Alpha Girls on the opposite benches, and was at the expense of my cold and barely able to clothe herself properly constituent. (cries of , Scandalous, rip her clothes off, eh, lets see if she likes the cold)

Mr Speaker, as a man I am used to frivilous, false and vexatious allegations from feminazi scumsuckers, as indeed is my constituent, a fair and reasonable women who Ms Mathyssen considers to be no better than the millions of whores who regularly displays their private parts for profit on her own laptop. (Cries of Shame. shame, Show us yer tits, Millions of Whores)

Whores who support Feminism, Mr Speaker. (Excited cries of 'Whores'. Millions, Feminist whores, eh)

Mr Speaker, I call upon the Party Whips to take Ms Mathyssen in hand and provide the required disciplines as laid down in Standing Orders. Thank you Mr Speaker (Cries of Whips Whips Bring on the Party Whips, Let's have a party. where's the party, is it BYO?, Lay her down, Give her one, eh. Lock the doors so Drex don't get in, eh).

(The House enterd a short period of disarray!

Recently one of the female members of parliament got roasted for exposing wayyyy too much skin.

Maybe this was a silently agreed revenge!

OK, that's not likely, but still - I was impressed someone actually stood up and asked wtf she thought she was doing exposing her saggy boobs in the house of commons.

The most offensive thing you can do to a feminist is treat her with FULL equality.
Wife : "I dreamt they were auctioning off dicks. The big ones went for ten dollars and the thick ones went for twenty dollars."
Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

The writer makes some good observations about the hypocrisy of gender attitudes.

It's encouraging whenever people in the media notice the same problems that we ourselves discuss here daily.

It's called house of commons for a reason, Karl. Member of the house of lords would never go so low and do such a thing.

    Bloody right!!!

That post by Percy may have been a parody, but if any of you have ever actually read Hansard (the transcript of all that is said in Parliment) you will soon discover that the place is as rude and vulgar as the bleachers in a ball park in the Bronx.....

Why...the only things I have ever experienced that were any more rude have been internet forums...

AND THAT"S THE WAY I LIKE IT!!!!
