    Re: Avon empowerment jewellry-(for women)

Anyway, ya know how women always talk about men having fragile egos? Yeah, all this empowerment nonsense is all about female ego stroking.
As if women didn't have monster egos that are easily crushed!

    Re: Avon empowerment jewellry-(for women)

This is a variation on a commercial theme which I pointed out on my podcast on 'Deliberately lying about DV'.

    Show me the Money.

Domestic violence literature, when citing such advocacy research survey findings characterise the one in four statistic as referring to physical violence.

The leaflets handed out by the self-declared socially conscious commercial retail chain, "The Body Shop", being a case in point. It manipulates. It attracts. It drew wannabee socially conscious women customers in to buy fragrant soaps and candles, to ‘support victims of domestic violence’.

Domestic Violence lies sells women’s products.

“After you have been beaten by an unappreciative man, you poor victimized woman, you need to pamper yourself. You deserve it.”

“Oooh, let me have some of those candles, you poor thing, I am a victim, too. Honest.”

“Is that right. Could you take a minute to fill out this survey while I wrap these for you”.

Such ‘women’s goods’ shop chains have no shame in ripping off women by appealing to ‘support for victims’. Even refugees from Torture and Trauma are roped in. The Refugee resettlement organisations in Australia get Government funds which are then siphoned off to run ‘joint’ appeals with such women’s goodies retail outlets for ‘raising consciousness’. And getting women to fill in surveys. They only mention women refugees of course. The maimed men do not get to take part. It makes for a fine week’s boost to turnover and the private commercial company ‘bottom line’.

Soon women's empowerment jewelry will include brass knuckles to better control their man-toys.

Just some average looking jewelery to me. What is supposed to be so empowering about it? Empowerment is psychological, not material.

Where I'm from, women who wear too much jewelry are cheap and shallow.

    That's great!
You shouldn't wear a lot of jewelry, especially at night.
If you do, then you're basically a walking billboard that says "I want you to stick a gun up my ass and rob me!"

Ahh, so Avon has moved on from shonky make-up, eh?
My missus had a rather terse run-in with the Avon lady last year some time.
The thing is, "Avon ladies" are not what they used to be.
They used to be glad to be invited into your house and ask if there was any make-up or what-ever, that a woman might need.
These days the shoe is on the other foot, it is the days of "power-selling" and nasty wimmin that will put their foot in the door so that you can't close it on them.

Stace was getting ready for a night-shift one evening, when there was a forceful knock at the door, that the local Constabulary would have been proud of, she opens the door on the night chain in case it was some idiot trying to get in.
    She was right.

Within micro-seconds of opening the door, she had the full "New Avon Customer run-down" laid upon her.
Stace was very animated when she was telling me about this the next morning when she came home.

Apparently the woman would not take no for an answer, even though Stace told her 3 times to bugger off as she was getting ready for work.

Power sales? or is it that they have the most "empowered" wimmin doing the selling.

My missus is not the type to get wound up about things, but I believe that the "conversation" ended with "Go away or the police will be here any second!"

Don't knock this empowerment jewellery, it really works. Just the other day I went to beat up a woman as part of my daily man-ritual, and she was wearing one of these empowerment chains, it was like Kryptonite, I became weak and useless, and I could barely move. That'll teach me.

I am of course being sarcastic, something I feel I have to point out a lot on the Internet, due to English not being everyone's mother tongue.

Did you hear about the transgendered Avon 'Lady'.

He used to knock hard on the door and shout in a gruff voice "It Avon. Yer bell's bust".

I like this comment Garak. I agree. I never thought of it like that, so I like this.

One of my cousins gave me an AVON "empowerment" bracelet with my Christmas present. Since I have not been to college, she thinks I need some "help" in thinking like a "woman". Because apparantly I cannot be a woman without having a degree........ but don't git me started.

I didnt want to be rude, so I thanked her and then when she wasnt lookin I gave it to my nephews ferret. He loved it. Still plays with it my nephew says.

So it may not fall in to the "empowerment" category that AVON was hoping for, but it should atleast qualify as "ethical treatment of animals".

Hannah, I have three degrees. I didn't start the first one until I was 25. You have all the time needed ahead of you.

My degrees did not make me a man and they won't make you a woman.
