Anyone know what happened to Yan Yan?

Yan Yan (real name deleted by admin) used to be a valued regular here. A Great guy.

He lived in the Phillipines with his two wives. His photo is around in the archives somewhere.

Last year I mentioned my pipe in a post and he asked what tobacco I used. I told him and he really wanted some. He couldn't get it there.

At Christmas last we exchanged some emails and I sent him a nice big tin of the tobacco he wanted. I know it got to him as he told me had had recieved it.

He said he was sending me a bottle of the local rum but then he got into a spot of bother with his Post Office who said they would not send it as it was a liquid and subject to the bizarre 'Terrorist' legislations foisted on the world by those dim Yanks.

Then he dropped out of sight. No emails. No postings, No pms.

I had his postal address but have mislaid it.

Two days ago I received a bottle of rum ! It had clearly been packed and repacked at various parts of the world en route and arrived in Australia Post livery.

I sent an email to him at his Yahoo e-address and it hasn't bounced. But no word of reply.

I am concerned about Ian. He is a good bloke.

Is anyone in touch with him?

Does anyone know what has happened to him.

Never heard of him but he sounds like a great guy who went to alot of trouble to get that rum to ya.

Maybe he's just busy, hope someone can actually help ya find him.

Yan Yan is an awesome guy. The last I heard, he had problems accessing the internet due to problems with his local ISP.
He said he would return... I do hope he is well.

Percy, if you do happen upon his snail-mail address again, I would urge you to mail him and ask him to send a reply to you. Ask him to just let us know he is well.

I made a thread back in April this year entitled "Anyone heard from Yan Yan?"

He was a great asset to the Admin team, as well as the forum. A reasoned and wise head indeed.

I hope he does return.

I talked to Yan Yan a month and 1/2 ago. He is having problems with access in the region he is in, as it limited and unstable. I think he mentioned something about an extended family member, but don't quote me on that.

Good news.

I had a reply from Yan Yan. He is well and back online.

He has been doing more than his fair share of countering the population decline and has a new baby. I have snaps.

He says he will try to be back in touch on here soon; in a week or two.
