Fort Worth, TX–The City of Fort Worth recently supplied the following data on "Whom gang members live with":

40 percent mother only
19 percent grandparent
15 percent both parents
14 percent other
11 percent their own housing
1 percent father only

At most, only 16% of gang members live with their fathers, but it's probably far less than that. I strongly suspect that much of the "15 percent both parents" classification includes stepfathers or transitional male figures who happen to be living with the mother at the time. It's quite possible that less than 5% of gang members live with their fathers.

Also...in some areas 70% of the violence is gang related. Think of the correlation.

Dads are pretty darn important!

And we PAY women to ditch them...as in how welfare works or child support...and in many other ways.

Some of those absent fathers are absent by choice. What do we do about that?

It's that simple, is it? How do you know they don't love their husbands? How do you even know if they were/are married? How do you know the parents of these street gang kids aren't teens, street people themselves, drug addicted, poor, or have other complicating factors that go into this?

How do you know whether or not some of the fathers love their "wives" or girlfriends? Why assume it's entirely a woman's fault?

I don't "automatically assume" a man is abusive. Some men are. Some women are. What I'm saying is that there is likely to be at least a few important factors that go into why a relationship breaks down, and why fathers are absent, or mothers choose to be single, and why some kids end up in gangs. It's just too easy to blame only women for this. Women have a part in it every bit as much as men do, but it irks me that you want to assume it's entirely women's fault. I think that's short-sighted. Further, you draw quotes and such from the Bible to support your biases....which is great, for you. it seems to reinforce or perpetuate your perceptions. I'm inclined to look further than the Bible for evidence.

That is BY FAR the minority. And in most cases I have looked into...the Mom is saying that. When I later talk to the Dad the story is quite a bit different.

The undisputable correlation between fatherless households and a greater susceptibility to gang membership and criminality, is a key point that is often avoided like the plague by politicians when discussing this issue - lest they endanger the precious female vote to any degree!

I know from *personal experiences* of seeing my own marriage and those of friends and family, it is predominantly the women divorcing the men - statistics on various sites have shown that less than 5% of divorces are for abuse, most are out of boredom. In all the divorces I've seen, the women divorced, not because of abuse*, but because they simple 'moved on' or, more realistically - 'got bored'.

I'm not saying it's that way for everyone... but when we continually hear from feminists, or feminist sympathisers, only about men abandoning the family, it seems to defy the reality I've lived AND researched.

However, I've known the guy years, and although their relationship was 'rocky' (including her throwing an alarm clock at his head, smashing open at contact with his forehead, and then she gloated about it to my ex). He he since remarried, his wife and I get on very well, he has custody of the children and a new baby with his new missus. There are no signs of a rocky relationship and he has chilled out considerably since she left - to become a lesbian.

This is very true.

The US government's *own figures* show that there is no or a minimal wage gap between the genders. In many cases women make more. Especially if they are also a minority.

You have to allow for the difference in choices being taken.

The bible had the perfect model but you don't understand because you have not asked. Men may have wrote the book but they weren't the author. 1) Some listing of reasons for divorce have a ranking...on one listing abuse was number 8, on another number 11.

2) Some surveys have it at number one, like this one: men and women were divided on what they saw as the reasons for their divorces. Women overwhelmingly said they made the decision to divorce because of abuse issues with a response rate of 48 percent

Can you believe that? 48% of all divorces are because of "abuse".

How about researching how many men leave before a marriage could take place? What are the stats on that, I wonder?

Oh, in addition - while he was expected to pay several hundreds per month for their three children (while she had custody), she has to pay only £75 per month - for all three... yet rarely does.

I know this as fact because I've been there when he's had phone calls from them (the C$A) and even read (with permission) some of the letters he's been sent.

While they chased him like he's a fashion accessory for his money, they seem extremely relaxed about getting the £75 p/m from his ex-wife.
