I thought I'd let you guys know that 40 Days and 40 Nights is being shown on ITV2 at 9pm tonight. The comedy film has a female-on-male rape scene that's not even acknowledged as rape.

I've seen this- and I urge you all to watch it The scene in question occurs at the end (within the last 10 mins) and the way they dealt with it was, in typical fashion, uncaring towards men Nothing new there then

Not sure where I stand on this. There was a case about a man having sex with a woman, where the woman was alledgedly decieved in to thinking he was someone else. This is pretty much the same situation in the film. Is getting sex by fraud, rape? I'm not sure.

In this film he was asleep AND restrained... not quite the same as pretending to be someone else. 40 days - 40 nights - rape scene

My main problem is, can you rape someone who is letting you have sex with them?

If you reverse the roles it would be rape!

Karl- that was an old thread ! I remember it like yesterday ![]() In regards to the rape, can you imagine, just like others have noted, that if it was a woman who was tied up and a man who satisfied himself using her body, the kind of uproar that film would have caused? To me- this is biased because the film doesn't even register a rape occurred or even try to condemn her actions

![]() More importantly though, your reasons for anger are precisely as mine - that the film absolutely ignored that he had been raped. No matter HOW anyone looks at this, the facts are that had it been gender reversed - the scene would have been followed by at least 20minutes or so of how her 'feelings' had been affected, and all the other crap that goes on. But according to the producers of this film, it doesn't matter because...well, he's only a guy, right!

We had a post on here some months ago about a woman who claimed she was raped by her boyfriends twin brother she consented to sex but it was rape because she thought she was consenting to sex with her boyfriend not the brother. What's the difference here if any?
Chevalier. "no greater love hath a man than to lay down his life for his brother." |
