Been away from AM for awhile. Here is why.
I have been away for awhile and wanted to share the good news with some of the ppl I have come to know here. I have abandoned my small rural shop and started work for a large dealership. Here is a picture of some of the cars I work on now. No more toyota echos or beat up farm pick up truck for me!!

Re: Been away from AM for awhile. Here is why.
My specialty is engine diagnostics and repair. OBD diagnosis, ABS, TCS, SRS, EVAP, etc. Pretty much anything that has to do with under the hood or electrical. I really forced on this side of things as the new technologies evolved and the older techs became discouraged with new developments. I figured it would assure me future work. My bet paid off. All those nights at the local mechanics school perfecting my trade paid off and got me this awesome job working for one of the biggest car manufacturers in the world. GM. I am damn proud of myself. I am allowed.
Also the pay is not so bad guys. My ex wife was especially happy to see my new pay. She actually started talking to me again about my son. Funny what money can do!! "Oh hi, how are you?, How's the new job?, Your son needs new shoes!, When do you get paid?, Much luck to you!!" Blah blah blah!!
Maybe this is what brought on some of my prior comments here today. Talking to her.
Worked on an Cadillac XLR today. Goggle it. Nice car. Convertible top was not working right. Module for folding into trunk was fried from body guys welding on the car after some body repairs. Always have to remind them that these systems are very fragile and surge protectors are imperative nowadays on these fine cars.
@Marx, thanx for the interest.

Congratulations. I wish you were close to me. I have a great car that needs some serious engine work and can't find anyone that will do it....

I have thought about going to the local community college and studying engine repair, but when I said that out loud, my wife rolled her eyes and said, "Sure, you need ANOTHER full time job."__________
