Jeremy Kyle. Do you know of him?
He has been on NZ day time TV for months now.
He brings on the bitchiest women we have ever met. They won't allow the fathers to see their children and he has heaps of guys on his show that ask for DNA tests that prove they are not the fathers.
He is certainly waking up NZ women to what is going on out there.
So much so that women are now looking at feminism.
OMG, I must go to work right now but the biggest and nastiest woman is on TV right now on his show. He is showing feminism up in all it's hateful glory.
Quote:
The UK's most loved, watched and controversial talk show, presented by Jeremy Kyle tackles issues head on, dealing with family and relationships, and taking a frank look at the every day conflicts that affect our lives. Not afraid to say exactly what he thinks, Jeremy believes the only way to solve a problem is through honesty and openness.
The show is distinctive for its confrontational style, which sees guests attempt to resolve issues with others that are significant in their lives, such as family, relationship, sex, drug, alcohol and other issues.

This thread is to provide you with a easy list to support effective Men's Rights Organizations with donations.
Marc Rudov mentioned this important part in his article:
Quote:
One good example of how to fight back — using pragmatic, effective tactics — is the lawsuit filed by the Vienna, WV-based group called Men and Women Against Discrimination (MAWAD), which seeks to stop West Virginia’s unconstitutional and discriminatory (pro-female) funding of domestic-violence programs and shelters. In another effort, MAWAD is working to eliminate the anti-father West Virginia Family Court culture.
If men would copy MAWAD’s approach, at both state and federal levels around the country, they can dismantle the lopsided gynocracy — without resorting to counterproductive stunts like illegally scaling the Lincoln Memorial.
Remaining inert and living in denial, however, will lead eventually to crisis, the blame game, and irreversible consequences. To wit: VAWA (the unconstitutional but increasingly oppressive Violence Against Women Act) is already 14 years old, has ruined thousands of men’s lives, and knows no bounds. Moreover, as the national average percentage of | ... [Read More]

There is now a Fathers 4 Justice organisation in South Africa: http://www.fathers-4-justice.co.za/
Quote:
Our children are our biggest assets. We at F4J passionately believe that the interests of our children should be paramount in all decisions that affect their lives.
It is a tragedy, but 52% of all first marriages end in divorce. Some sources state that as much as 60% of all 2nd marriages end in divorce. Yet, we all continue to fall in love...and out of love again.
And that is where the tragedy for our children begins. It is not until you are faced with this situation yourself, that you find yourself up against a whole range of false assumptions as to the needs of the child. These may be well meaning, but by depriving the child of the opportunity to maintain a full relationship with both parents, they set the scene for heightening the anger, depression and deep sense of loss for both the child and the "absent" parent.
The traditional divorce arrangement of sole residency to one parent and 4-6 days per month contact with the other, is not healthy for many children and is in fact psychologically destructive for | ... [Read More]

Earlier today, I found this archive of articles (covering 1996 to 2003) from the men's rights publication "Male View": http://www.highbeam.com/Male+View/publications.aspx
Unfortunately, only a portion of each article is displayed to people who don't have full membership at highbeam.com.
Perhaps we should work out a plan to access the full articles, and then host them on a site that can be viewed by everyone?

| Movie: "A Father's Rights" |
|
20 Jul, 2008 - 7:19 PM - by John Dias
|
A new story entry has been added:
Movie: "A Father's Rights"
Quote:
There is a movie that a father's rights advocate just created called, "A Father's Rights." The movie is very professionally made, with Hollywood-grade quality. The trailer alone is compelling drama, and it presents the perspective of the father favorably as he navigates the insanity of the family court and his abusive Ex. Based on the trailer, I would say that the acting is also superb, and the footage captures not just the political aspects surrounding the father's rights cause, but also the sexual dynamics between men and women. This movie appears to be spot-on. I am amazed that something of this quality is being produced by someone sympathetic to our underfunded movement. But for once, we have someone with a gift for cinematic story telling who has stuck out his neck and made a film that is worthy of our support.

When a group gets runs on the board, other start to notice. Success brings people to the Party. From all over. There is strength in numbers. But to be effective at the highest levels, ignition comes from a Critical Mass. This is building.
SAY not the struggle naught availeth,
The labour and the wounds are vain,
The enemy faints not, nor faileth,
And as things have been they remain.
If hopes were dupes, fears may be liars;
It may be, in yon smoke conceal'd,
Your comrades chase e'en now the fliers,
And, but for you, possess the field.
For while the tired waves, vainly breaking,
Seem here no painful inch to gain,
Far back, through creeks and inlets making,
Comes silent, flooding in, the Main.
And not by eastern windows only,
When daylight comes, comes in the light;
In front the sun climbs slow, how slowly!
But westward, look, the land is bright!

Barbara Kay on The unfair perils of divorced fathers: For the sake of the children

In the 1979 movie Kramer vs. Kramer, a New York mother bored with child care bolts to Los Angeles “to find herself,” leaving her husband suddenly in sole charge of their little son.
The heart of the movie is the riveting evolution of a patriarchy-era father — career-obsessed, domestically disengaged — into a New Man: putting career ambitions second to his child’s needs, parenting clumsily and frantically at first, but eventually with tender efficiency.
Not without realistic missteps and emotional pain along the way, they form a loving bond. The child is happy. Nevertheless, when the mother swoops back into town 18 months later and sues for custody, a patriarchy-era court ignores the dad’s obviously superior moral claim — and the child’s wishes — awarding the mom custody... Thanks To You We Have Grown Up In A Very Short Time.
Networking in Action
So much has happened it is hard to decide where to start. How about from the beginning?
Three years ago today, the Senate Judiciary Committee held the reauthorization hearing for the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). After denying preeminent authorities on partner violence even a seat at the hearing, they rubber stamped the authorization for the institutionalized destruction of the American middle class, families, marriage, parenthood, and our children.
That day was our call to order and what started with a meeting of less than 200 people, is now an organization of almost 50,000 members, with field offices in 32 states.
Today our eNewsLetter is read by over 160,000 subscribed readers, up from the 300 we had in our early months. We are hated and cursed by both men and women's groups, members of the United States Congress, and even some of our own affiliates. Speaking the | ... [Read More]

Quote:
The Men’s Coalition is a new organisation that aims to put issues of concern to men and boys firmly on the public policy agenda.
These issues include health, parenting and caring, relationships, education, employment crime and violence. Identifying and addressing the inter-relationships between these issues is also of critical importance.
Many men experience poor mental, emotional and physical health as well as discrimination and disadvantage in a number of areas, including school education, parenting and some aspects of employment. We believe that the adoption of specific roles by men and women on the basis of their gender is also seriously limiting for both individuals and society.
However, it is understood and accepted that men are institutionally advantaged in terms of economic power and privilege compared to the position of women. The Coalition is therefore fully committed to gender equality and to working in partnership with women's organisations.
The Coalition is currently in the early stages of its development. Its initial members include the Men’s Health Forum, | ... [Read More]

Yesterday, July 6, 2008 Parade Magazine ran a brief blurb about whether family courts discriminate against fathers in custody cases. Parade magazine is distributed in millions of papers across the country on Sundays.
More importantly, the magazine initiated a poll asking 'Should Divorced Dads Get Equal Time With Their Kids?' Through late Sunday evening the numbers were coming in at a 2 to 1 ratio supporting the statement. As of several minutes ago the margin had narrowed to 51% to 49% in favor of the statement.
Perhaps this is a 'normal' vote swing, however it appears unlikely given the constancy of favorable opinion throughout Sunday. We are asking you to visit the link below and cast your vote. It takes only a moment to make your voice heard. Follow the link, support shared parenting and equality. Please forward the link to others you know who would support reform efforts.

Some of you expressed concern that survey missed a few questions you felt were key. The free system we used limited our survey to ten (10) questions per survey, which is why is was broken into multiple surveys.
Others wanted an open format comment field. The free system has no means to correlate answers beyond multiple choice questions, manually correlating up to 160,000 comments (our current mail | ... [Read More]
