SAVE services is also one of the domestic violence advocacy groups that were lobbying American lawmakers to eliminate gendered language in the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) during it's recent re-authorization debate in congress. SAVE and others wanted to remove any gendered language (changing women to people) to ensure that everyone would be covered equally. You can still see that they are monitoring VAWA on the front of their website.
