Partner Violence Reduction Act VAWA Amendment

    Ok here is the deal,

VAWA is up for re-authorization this year and SAVE has been working very hard to have many amendments to the legislation and have it renamed Partner Violence Reduction Act. PLEASE sign this petition so we can have it presented to lawmakers.

It seems like only Americans can sign the petition (considering it inquires a ZIP code and a state, instead of a country)?

    Edit:
    Signed

there are so many red flags for young men nowadays that if they dodged the dumb contract

( aka the marriage contract the VAWA petard would not affect them and they could be holidaying in Acapulco instead of staring at their partner across the Family Court bench beneath the glowering gaze of a feminit judge)

It is intended to change VAWA into PVRA (which is better than VAWA).

So dress up a turd. VAWA is bad, period.

There are already laws on the books that cover assault, we don't need special laws for people in relationships. That's just as bad as hate crime laws. VAWA needs to go away or stay as sexist as it is for all to see.

PVRA is supposed to grant protection against false accusations and curb fraud (to fix the mayhem of VAWA).

It is also absurdly unlikely that SAVE would campaign for something utterly pointless or still let VAWA remain VAWA.

Sorry but VAWA needs to go away. Do you think that just because a law is written gender neutral it will be enforced that way? VAWA was designed to be sexist and will remain sexist no matter how much you dress up that turd.

I see it like this. Sooner or later VAWA will get shot down completely. I see this as something coming in to save VAWA before that happens. I don't want VAWA to be saved, I don't want hate crime laws to be saved. Those laws are redundant and serve only to prop up one group. They were never meant to be balanced and would never be enforced that way even if you change the wording.
