    Letter to the Telegraph

I've just sent this letter to the Telegraph:

Like everyone else, I was appalled to learn of the ordeal endured by the Saudi gang-rape victim who was sentenced to 200 lashes. However, I find it disappointing that the media generally neglected to mention the plight of her male companion.

He too, was raped during the attack and sentenced to be lashed, yet many of the journalists who deemed these details to be newsworthy, dedicated little more than a single sentence to it in their reports.

Both victims have my best wishes, and I hope dearly that they can rebuild their lives.
I sent it in to their Letters page.
