    I can see that what I meant was not quite what I said. Yes, you're right, Percy. I didn't mean to say that men aren't victimized;

Thank you for that Kelly. Yes, even I sometimes do not quite say what I mean in a 'right enough' way, but like you, I can try to correct it and think about what I say. You are a breath of fresh air.

Maybe we need to become as organized as Radar is.
Do you mean www.mediaradar.org ? This site is focussed on domestic violence, debunking myths and doing away with one-sided sexist laws like VAWA and IMBRA. This is all dandy, but it is only one portion of a large mountain of issues.

We could combine funds for a similar high quality site which focusses on Men's Rights in western countries. The work to run such a site involves writing detailed, professional, periodical reports (see mediaradar.org's reports for examples), encourage people to act and such.

A big plus point is that it only requires a handfull of serious professional people who know their stuff. Later on some capable staffers could hold conferences.

It can assist the media and co. in providing fair coverage to men's issues.

It does not require a real-live office, but that could be established later.

Money could be generated via sponsors, donations and ads.

As far as I know such a site, organization does not exist yet and this project is realistic.

Thanx for reading my rant Tyrael. I wish I could be more of a point person to help instead of going on and on. I will work on that.

But you saw what I meant. You get what I mean. Yes, I do mean LIKE Radar. Not RADAR.

We could also add this tool.

    http://antimisandry.com/progressive_...2.html?t=10042

And do what you have written.

I can get money to help with this.

It is also a niche area of the MRM.

It can also help other groups.

It can also give men a way to have a voice.

It can also give the media information. It could become a very popular source of information for the media.

It can also be a place for researchers to give their information. I have found that researchers just love it when their research is used. (that is what they do it for)

And I have found also that researchers and University professors like to give to groups to build their own credentials.

    Just to add.

A lot of research is going to be coming out this year and in the next 10 years. The MRM has to be ready for this.

Julie, you may have noticed that I have flights of fancy, while you are a pragmatist.

RADAR is a good organisation that actually works and does a lot of useful educative and positive things. Perhaps that is where activity could be directed.

Do you think Australasia is able to 'do' a RADAR?

Oh, Percy, I am embarrassed that you ask this of me.

I will get mad at you if you treat me this way. You know the answer to this question. And I know you know the answer to this question.

Please don't put my intelligence down. I get enough of that.

So, I have been a part of a brainstorm post and had a good idea. Tyrael added to it. Then I added to it. Now you should add to it.

    OK. Hmmmmm... mmmmm..mmmmm (continuous)

How do I explain myself on this? I don't know the right way nor the wrong way. I am certainly in a pickle.

OK, here goes. I will try my best.

Percy, I learn from you. I am inspired by you. I put up with the "I am an idiot remarks" because I want to better myself.

That is being smart and wanting to be smarter. One day it will pay off.

I learn from all the silly posts I write and all the rants I do. I learn from every post anyone writes and every comment. Even from the feminists who visit the sites.

I sincerely care. I have a reason to care. All the black crosses I see put in front of Parliament each year on Fathers day represents my own father. And every year there are more black crosses that are left on the steps outside the leaders of our country's doors. Everyone of these crosses represents a father who committed suicide because he couldn't cope anymore. (bumma, now I have tears running down my cheek)

I guess what I am trying to say is this: You are so smart. You are so clever. You are so wise.

I don't judge anything you say. I know I may look that way but I am just being insensitive. It is never that I know more than you. That is not possible for at least 10 years. It is just that I have to learn to be nicer on the net.

I guess I thought I had intimidated you in some way.

Re: Create a Men's Rights Organization, Brainstorm, ideas

I was taking a small shot at myself, Julie (my flights of fancy - dreams of a great worldwide organisation) and praising you (pragmatist) for actually getting things done on the ground. locally.

I was seeking your opinion. I asked a simple question - Do you think Australasia is able to 'do' a RADAR?. That is, could an Australasian (Oz and NZ) site and service be made to bring some Truth to light and counter media bias in our part of the world. I have an opinion on it, of course, and sought yours.

I am not looking for praise for wisdom or anything else. I wasn't putting your intelligence down.

In the intervening hours I had a very long phone conversation with Mark Rosenthal - of RADAR - in Boston, USA and learned a great deal.

Fair enough. I understand. It is hard to know people properly on the net.

This idea is a big deal and it is a flight of fancy. You should think big. You must think big.

I personally don't think we should divide it. I think it would be best to go global. NZ and aussie fall under global. But that is not up to me.

    Julie,

I am officially requesting that you make a formal post of apology to the AM community.

You have made statements about this site that are completely false elsewhere and I am calling you on it. Furthermore, I would appreciate it if you go to said location (you know where I am speaking of) and post the truth.

And since I am sure you'll play the "I donno what you mean" card, I'll explain.

You have claimed that Marx and/or I have banned you from AM. Obviously this is false, since you are posting. You joined in on the feeding frenzy condemning AM for its "policies" when you had no reason to. There is more to the story, and if you so choose to not do as I request, I shall be forced to post EXACTLY what I am referring to.

    I will await your thread.

Re: Create a Men's Rights Organization, Brainstorm, ideas

I think it's a good idea, Tyrael, if somewhat intimidating. We've been talking about this stuff for so long that it's going to be hard to get it going. What we need is a concrete plan of attack, and someone to be in charge, make assignments, and keep the fires lit. Percy's right; democracy will get us nowhere with this.
