AM Members should make their presence felt
The second annual conference for "Improving the Lives of Men and Boys" will be hosted by The Men's Network on November 2nd somewhere in the UK and I think that this would be a golden opportunity for Antimisandry to make it's presence felt and promote the site. Last year was the first time that these guys hosted this thing and there were a fair number of participants. While I am on the other side of the pond and can't make it I thing that prominent members of this site should consider getting some face time with other MRAs at this conference. If we have to we can start a fundraising drive and perhaps maybe even get a booth at the event and set some of out UK members up for the night.
This could be really fun and worth while and I certainly will cover the event for both AVFM News and Antimisandry for publication and promotion of the MRM.
Here is the website:
CONFERENCE 2012 « The Men's Network
I really really think that this is an opportunity not to be missed!Do not ever suppose that a small group of people can never change the world. INDEED it is the only thing that ever has.

Is there anyway people from the other side of the pond can get involved,if they should so desire?

I and a few others had invites to the last one, but we declined because of the pretty obvious fact that it is something that has been co-opted by the main enemies of men and fathers..

I'm not so cynical as to pre-judge the event. I'm a glass half-full kinda guy.

Whatever you paid for you ticket is money direct to the enemy. Look at their site, if you cant see the problem with their approach, then by all means go and join the cultural marxists..

Re: AM Members should make their presence felt
I was offered a free ticket, and an opportunity to speak.. I looked at the info and I and another well experienced MRA both concluded the same thing at the same time..
One easy give away to always look out for in any new group or event that suddenly appears, literally, fully grown and developed as soon as the public get to hear of it is:-
Events and groups like this do not suddenly appear out of thing air with such wonderfully organised and politically correct form and structure, aims etc., unless they have some heavyweight statist support, they are like the BBC.. Masters of manipulation of the minds of those who are not so smart.. (which sadly seems to mean the majority of MRA's and FRA's)..
It may be bad news to most MRA's, but anything solid and good for men is most likely to come "from the ground up".. Those men who have toiled and struggled for years, learning the many blind alleys, pitfalls and frustrations along the way..
Added after 9 minutes:
It was CREATED by them.. The point is, the state and the cultural marxists are keen to gather the folks from the mens movement and steer them in the way that THEY want the mens movement to go..
Lets face it, if a force is massing, and you had to power to create something that could direct that force to work for your own ends, rather than against your PC aims, it is wise to do so..
Don't take my word for it though, just look at the site, like I say, some folk will probably have no problem with the PC equalities style stuff, because most MRA's are, frankly, just frustrated ex-male feminists, (not usually as much as the FRA's though!)..
This is, the equivalent of the University Mens Centre in another thread on AM, being allowed on the campus because it plugs directly in to the feminists agenda..
Approved by the femistate, the MRA's equivalent of Familys need Fathers in the fathers movement..
Dangerous..
If a force was to gather and turn up to make a point about this, well, no one would turn up for one thing, and talking to those types of statist prats is just as futile as talking to feminists..Last edited by felixblue; 21st-May-2012 at 10:41 PM. Reason: content auto merged

Re: AM Members should make their presence felt
I looked over the "The Good Men Project" site a few days back and realized myself that it was a fake immediately. However, the Mens Network looks geniune to me. It is a support organization, not an activist group. It has to work within the local infrastructure, and they won't get any where by being radical.
I could be wrong, but the one thing I've learned in life is to make my own mind up about people based on my own experiences of them, and I'll do that here. I want to support anyone who is working to help men and boys. Plus I want to learn about what's happening in this area.THE LAST LEGIONARY

Re: AM Members should make their presence felt
Indeed. They wont get anywhere. No one within the box CAN get anywhere useful for men who don't want to be boxed.. Might make a few quid though from selling tickets. FNF have been around for about 4 decades and things have got much worse in that time because "support groups" are all about making victims happier, so in effect they serve the agents who create the victims..
Why do state agents always recommend the "support groups" that the state sponsors and gives finance and resources to?
Think about it, it aint that hard to work out...
Happy victims behave well and stay in their boxes, fed with the usual bs that "changes are coming" etc.. Of course, things do change, indeed, they get progressively worse..I started out an optimist, but nothing turned out right..

Re: AM Members should make their presence felt
Sounds like a good opportunity to me.
Especially if it the 'enemy'. It is a conference where many bits of paper will be floating around and many folks ready to be convinced.
AgitProp works both ways.
Place stickers on walls and tables. Print hand-outs on relevant subjects, containing two or three FACTS. Maybe even some choice phrases by feminists, like "All Men Are Rapists". Attribute their words the way they spat them. One side of A4 will do nicely. Have AM's URL and name on lots of things to spread around.
Talk politely to people. Listen to them and assess whether they are 'enemies', true MRAs or just attendees to be swayed. Just nod the head at fools and smile nicely and carry on handing out flyers with OUR message.

Re: AM Members should make their presence felt
Sounds like a good idea percy, but the organisers want to know the boner fido's of everyone who is going to be trying to to influence what happens in there from what I recall of last time..
Folk will indeed have to make their own minds up on this matter, but don't go in thinking here is the answer to every mans dreams, because many FRA's in particular have been either blue pilled into accepting what is fed them, or dissapointed when they start to see through to the underlying agenda..

Nevertheless Felix, the battlefield opportunities are to be found on the battlefield, not back in the computer room barracks.

Re: AM Members should make their presence felt
Hi All
Thanks for discussing this on AM - I just want to respond to the conspiracy theorists briefly before extended an invitation:
"events and groups like this do not suddenly appear out of thing air with such wonderfully organised and politically correct form and structure, aims etc., unless they have some heavyweight statist support"
Well The Men’s Network did not appear out of thin air it was more than 10 years in the planning and was co-founded by the former PR Director of Fathers 4 Justice in the UK
The First National Conference for Men and Boys was created entirely by volunteers and delivered on a budget of less than £1,000 all paid for by tickets and we gave away 100 FREE tickets
SimilarlyFirst National Conference for Men and Boys is being organized entirely by volunteers on no budget and any money from tickets sales will cover venue hire, food and other costs associate with hosting an event on this scale
Members of AM are very welcome to come along – the idea of the conference is simply to provide a space where people who are committed to improving the lives of men and boys in the UK can meet each other, make connections and share ideas and experience
If a group of delegates from AM want to have a presence you are very welcome to contact me offlist about ways to be involved beyond just attending – if you want to promote anything or put forward a speaker for one of the sessions just let me know - while this is not a 'men's rights' conference you will find other delegates coming from a 'men's rights' perspective
As Andy Man has pointed out the focus of the event is on providing support services for men and boys – it’s not a campaign/protest/political activist event – and campaigners and activists who are interested in how we develop the services men need (eg services for male victims of domestic violence) will probably find the event useful
It’s not a rally, it’s a sector conference and if you can see the value in helping to build the men and boys sector then you’re very welcome
If you don’t see the value of working together to building a men and boys sector then this event is probably not for you
I’d say there is definitely a growing demand for some kind of Men’s Rights event/group/campaign or rally in the UK – there are lots of individuals who want it but no-one is stepping forward to make it happen yet
Thanks again for flagging this up and do get in touch if you want to be involved individually or collectively
Best
Glen

Re: AM Members should make their presence felt
Indeed percy. As long as folks go in with the correct attitude they could well learn just how easy it is to persuade soft blokes that piss tastes like lager..
I can usually tell what it is just by the temperature of the glass it is in..
I am sure there will be some nice chaps there doing good impressions of penguins in a feminist snowstorm..I started out an optimist, but nothing turned out right..
