It is a great pity that Disney chose to call one of its famous and justifiably popular films, 'The Jungle Book'. Although ostensibly based on Kipling's first Jungle Book story, there is very little in common in the stories and the the great ethos and power of Kipling's work is entirely missing.
I recommend anyone who likes a good story to read the true Jungle Book. It has pathos, human interest, good-and-bad yet not so black-and-white, no sex, no drugs. It can be a great talking point with children, too, to help them understand about ethics and moral dilemmas while still being a ripping good adventure yarn.
Good for all ages.
