Doing anything for St Paddy's Day?
Well,
Its that time of year again, time to bring the winter to a close and celebrate irishness.
What are you folks doing for St Paddy's Day?
Hopefully you don't take it too far and have a bit of a barney with your (male)mate.

As luck would have it, my current job site is the third floor of an established Irish pub here in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I'm remodeling it into an open-air beer garden. The first and second floors are pub/restaurants and I'll be working all day just above all the festivities.

You lucky sod Bryon!
I can't say as I have any plans despite being 1/2 Irish.Last edited by Bmiricle; 17th-March-2011 at 09:39 PM. Reason: spelled my name wrong and Irish should be capitalized

I was thinking of sending them congratulations for realizing their dreams of Independence from Great Britain. But Germany bought them, lock, stock and Guiness barrel before I could raise the cost of a stamp. So maybe I will send just them an email of condolence to hang on the wall next to their message of condolence to Germany when Hitler died.
St Patrick was an Englishman sent to wrest the Irish pagans from the Viking pagans. He didn't get rid of all the snakes though.

Re: Doing anything for St Paddy's Day?
I'm doing nothing except wearing some green. Now on Ostara(March 21st) I'm going to be spending the day with my husband and cook with him for a feast and have a blot and sumbel.

Beside hanging with my brethren, paying off my copy of Duke Nukem and lifting weights, nothing. The college students are buying alcohol and acting like damn fools.

As Paddy's day doesn't end in one day here, the parade is today and I'll be looking for a spot on the Ceolta's float. Ought to be a good time. First I have to go in and build some forums and pour some concrete..but hey, I'm gonna ride on the float.

Saint Patrick was (real) British, like the Welsh, not like the English. He would have spoken Welsh or Latin (the British were still under Roman occupation at that time).

Just to show I am not totally anti-Irish, here are some Irish people in Sydney doing the Irish thing right. Fine folk they are, to be sure to be sure.
