Before There Was Men’s Rights, There was Glam Metal

I know it seems like a strange thing to say, but when you think about it there is some truth to it. Before the concept of zeta masculinity was around, deconstructing and challenging the idea of what men should do there were others doing it before us.
They wore lots of makeup, lace, and had long poofy 80s hair. Yup, glam metal bands were some of the first semi-organized MRAs.
Through the incredibly feminine clothing style, loud music and insane antics, they were the strange of the strange to normal society. Metal wasn’t what society was supposed to have as music, and the way the men in glam metal bands dressed wasn’t what headbangers expected their musicians to be like.
And if you weren’t ok with that? Well then that was your problem. Hanoi Rocks, Twisted Sister, and Sweet were way ahead of us. They challenged gender roles in the male dominated world of heavy metal, by doing every that metal bands weren’t supposed to do and kicking ass as they did it.
They punched the entire culture in the gut, and the culture loved them for it. They were different enough to get attention and criticism, but still similar enough to not be ostracized and not considered “real metal”. They were tough, they rocked and they pushed the boundaries of gender roles among fellow men.
They were the true pioneers of zeta masculinity and fighting against traditional masculinity.
