Khaleda Zia (L) and Sheikh Hasina
But, but, but the world would be a better place if it was run by wommyn...
We have all heard this drivel and it would be true if wommin were capable of looking outside their own selfish little sphere, which they cannot..
Woomin leader have in the past started wars, involved in many other murderous and corrupt acts, you would have to be a feminised denier to not believe it to be true...
Here we have two fine examples, not just one but TWO corrupt former female Prime Ministers and in the same country...Well done girls...
Ex-PM is arrested in Bangladesh
The military-backed interim government in Bangladesh has arrested former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
She faces charges of extortion and corruption and has been taken to a court in the centre of Dhaka.
Another former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in custody since July, now faces new corruption charges in addition to those of extortion and murder.
Bangladesh has been under emergency rule since January when the army-backed interim government cancelled elections.
It vowed then to tackle corruption and has arrested 150 senior politicians while banning most political activity.
Bitter rival
In the latest charges against Sheikh Hasina, the head of the Awami League, Bangladesh's anti-corruption commission accuses her of taking illegal payments from a private electricity firm totalling $435,000 (£215,000).
The commission said Sheikh Hasina had taken the money when she was in power between 1996 and 2000.
Sheikh Hasina denies all charges against her
Six other people, including former senior officials, have also been charged.
This is the first charge brought against Sheikh Hasina by a government body, so is seen to carry more weight than the others, says the BBC's Mark Dummett in Dhaka.
Sheikh Hasina is being held in a house in the parliament complex.
Her bitter rival, Bangladesh Nationalist Party leader Khaleda Zia, has also been facing criminal charges over tax evasion allegations.
On Sunday, the anti-corruption commission alleged she used her influence illegally to determine the operators of two state container depots.
