Six weeks of maternity leave does not cut it for me. I appreciate everything the Army

How unfair is the Army ? Why don't they cater to the selfish female. They know that they only have to moan, bitch and complain and the Army will cow-tow to their every wish.

It's not as the Army is about being efficient and training troops to be killing machines or training to defend their country.

Wrong.....they are all about catering to the selfish privilege princesses, ofcourse. What were you thinking. AN army is about protecting a country you idiot.

Women only want the armed forces to cater to them.

Need more maternity leave

The article “Group’s study on women’s careers due in March” [Jan. 22] talked about a meeting of the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services to discuss the under-representation of female officers in certain branches of the military.

The article mentioned one possible cause of the problem is that women often leave the service to have children.

It goes without saying that is one of the main reasons women choose to leave the military, especially with the frequent and long deployments.

More and more women of my age are choosing to stay home with their young children or to work only part time.

This is not an option in the military, and one of the main reasons I will not re-enlist.

An easier on- and off-ramp to service in the form of sabbaticals, as the article described, is a possible solution.

Until then, I vote with my feet. Six weeks of maternity leave does not cut it for me. I appreciate everything the Army has given me and will always be proud to be a veteran, but I cannot make a career out of it.

I feel that the women of more age are choosing to stay home with their young children or to work only part time.Because they are been not allowed to take the leaves. But I would appreciate everything the Army has given me and will always be proud to be a veteran that they are giving priority to them. They are providing Six weeks of maternity leave, its great.
