What is 'misandry' and what is 'anti-misandry'?
Misandry is the hatred of males as a sex, as opposed to misogyny, the hatred of women; or misanthropy, hatred of the human species. Misandry comes from misos (Greek μῖσος, "hatred" + andr-ia (Greek anér-andros, "man". Those holding misandric beliefs can be of either sex. Thus it holds to common sense that Anti Misandry is to work toward removing misandry from our culture.

Can you give me some demonstrations of misandry?
Sure. Have a look at the second-wave feminist view of men for an example. Valerie Solanas, the radical feminist who shot Andy Warhol in 1968, provides a famous example of misandry in her self-published SCUM Manifesto. In case you're wondering, SCUM is an acronym for 'Society for Cutting Up Men', practically a call for gendercide, the culling of men. Quite literally, Solanas expressed her desire to "institute complete automation and destroy the male sex."

Wow, this is pretty bad stuff - what can I do about misandry? For one thing, you can stop accepting it as a ...

Most Western family law courts and systems are greatly skewed against fathers. There is an inbuilt bias against dads, and many are turned into criminals for having done nothing wrong. The facts on this are quite clear. Consider which parent is awarded custody of children after divorce: women are, some 85 per cent of the time in many Western countries.

This is not because the dads do not want the kids, but because the family law courts and tribunals invariably side with the mothers here, even if the dad may not be at fault. Indeed, the majority of divorces are initiated by women. And feminism and political correctness have ensured that women will usually get the benefit of the doubt, while men are looked upon as the villain.

Now of course in a marriage it takes both spouses to make it work, and most divorces also entail faults with both partners. Sure there are some dead-beat dads, abusive husbands, and irresponsible fathers. But there are also mothers who are equally at fault. There are irresponsible mums, abusive wives, and so on. Yet the way the law treats these matters, you would think that women are almost always right, while men are almost always wrong.

I know guys who minister to dads after ...

Last year, the American Academy of Pediatrics released a Circumcision Policy Statement along with a thirty‐page “technical report” on male circumcision. The statement and the electronic report was filled with outright lies and biased studies attempting to show how the benefits of male circumcision far outweigh its risks. Doctors Opposing Circumcision (D.O.C) reviewed AAP's rubbish later that year: DOC (2012) Commentary on American Academy of Pediatrics 2012 Circumcision Policy Statement.

The "Task Force on Circumcision" was lead by a Dr. Susan Blank. Do you know what she spoke about? "Protecting the income and continuing professional well-being of the members of the AAP". It was Blank who specifically selected members who approved of circumcision in order to endorse a view that favours the continued practices of male circumcision. But here's something interesting, Dr. Susan Blank also spoke at the Women's Issues Committee of New York in 2010 — a group which, ...

Fashion show with woman holding man on leashBy Denise Noe

Recently, in my capacity as Community Editor of The Caribbean Star, I reported on a fashion show. The holders of the show helpfully sent me some photographs taken at the event. Two were of women modeling clothes.

One was of a male and a female model on the runway together. Both were very attractive and both were smiling. However, this photograph cannot be said to exemplify gender “equality.” The woman is attired in high heels, a loose-fitting skirt with an uneven hem, and a leopard spotted top while the man is barefoot and wearing only a leopard spotted loincloth and dark glasses. The woman is standing and holding a leach attached to a dog collar around the man’s neck. He is in a crawling position on all fours.

I couldn’t help but think that there would have been a roaring public outcry at the fashion show had the positions of the man and the woman been reversed. ...

There are a lot of sensible reasons to reject the concept that domestic abuse is gender-based violence. Even though there is plenty of evidence to support the difference between them, there are many organisations that persist in saying that all domestic violence is indeed gender-based. The United Nations, with it's billion-dollar budgets, admits in their discussion of domestic violence to encouraging "the most comprehensive set of standards in international law for the protection of women against sexual and gender-based violence." What they actually have done is completely muddy the waters.

In domestic abuse cases, people abuse those they are in domestic relationships with. This includes parents, children and partner/spouse.
    • There is no evidence in any country that parents of one sex are abused significantly more than parents of the other sex. Likewise, there is no evidence in any country that parents are significantly more likely to be abused by children of one sex rather than the other. Parental abuse victims and perpetrators do not show any evidence of

This is an open letter to all politicians in the United Kingdom, and for all media to report upon. It is unashamedly borrowing many words directly from a speech in the Scottish Parliament by Marco Biagi, Scottish National Party MSP for Edinburgh Central, on 5 February 2014.

Dear representatives of men and women, boys and girls, in the United Kingdom,

“Circumcision”, “growing up”, “religious rite”, “passage to adulthood” and “cleansing” are euphemisms for male genital mutilation (MGM) that are in common use, though the Equal Opportunities Committee, supporting inequalities in gender integrity, have never held a discussion on the subject. However, those are not the worst euphemisms that are heard. Some children are told that they are “going to a party”. The spectre of a child being told by their family that they are going on holiday, to visit their relatives or to attend a celebration, only to be made to undergo a violation of themselves and their bodies, in their earliest and most vulnerable years, is a disturbing thing for anyone who cares about children. The spectre of people being disturbed by such things only when the child is female is most disturbing of all.
