What is 'misandry' and what is 'anti-misandry'?
Misandry is the hatred of males as a sex, as opposed to misogyny, the hatred of women; or misanthropy, hatred of the human species. Misandry comes from misos (Greek μῖσος, "hatred" + andr-ia (Greek anér-andros, "man". Those holding misandric beliefs can be of either sex. Thus it holds to common sense that Anti Misandry is to work toward removing misandry from our culture.

Can you give me some demonstrations of misandry?
Sure. Have a look at the second-wave feminist view of men for an example. Valerie Solanas, the radical feminist who shot Andy Warhol in 1968, provides a famous example of misandry in her self-published SCUM Manifesto. In case you're wondering, SCUM is an acronym for 'Society for Cutting Up Men', practically a call for gendercide, the culling of men. Quite literally, Solanas expressed her desire to "institute complete automation and destroy the male sex."

Wow, this is pretty bad stuff - what can I do about misandry? For one thing, you can stop accepting it as a ...

Picture yourself dating one guy after another when you know you beat out 20 other really good women to get with him. Because being good, after all, isn't enough. You have to be an alpha - the best, the dominant, the tough girl.

Imagine having to give off vibes that you'll provide for him and die for him if it comes down to him or you in an emergency. Imagine knowing that if you lose your job, in this shitty economy, you're utterly worthless to him, even though if he's out of a job, that's okay with you. Let's say a woman attacks a male stranger for some reason and you are humiliated for not coming to his rescue. Let's say that in a fire, the firefighters save him first and come for you next - leaving you at risk of dying in a collapse. Let's say that when the ship is sinking, you're held back from the lifeboats at gunpoint, so he can get on first. Let's just say that when the shit really hits the fan and people die in a disaster, and you pick up a newspaper, it says

Most Western family law courts and systems are greatly skewed against fathers. There is an inbuilt bias against dads, and many are turned into criminals for having done nothing wrong. The facts on this are quite clear. Consider which parent is awarded custody of children after divorce: women are, some 85 per cent of the time in many Western countries.

This is not because the dads do not want the kids, but because the family law courts and tribunals invariably side with the mothers here, even if the dad may not be at fault. Indeed, the majority of divorces are initiated by women. And feminism and political correctness have ensured that women will usually get the benefit of the doubt, while men are looked upon as the villain.

Now of course in a marriage it takes both spouses to make it work, and most divorces also entail faults with both partners. Sure there are some dead-beat dads, abusive husbands, and irresponsible fathers. But there are also mothers who are equally at fault. There are irresponsible mums, abusive wives, and so on. Yet the way the law treats these matters, you would think that women are almost always right, while men are almost always wrong.

I know guys who minister to dads after ...

Last year, the American Academy of Pediatrics released a Circumcision Policy Statement along with a thirty‐page “technical report” on male circumcision. The statement and the electronic report was filled with outright lies and biased studies attempting to show how the benefits of male circumcision far outweigh its risks. Doctors Opposing Circumcision (D.O.C) reviewed AAP's rubbish later that year: DOC (2012) Commentary on American Academy of Pediatrics 2012 Circumcision Policy Statement.

The "Task Force on Circumcision" was lead by a Dr. Susan Blank. Do you know what she spoke about? "Protecting the income and continuing professional well-being of the members of the AAP". It was Blank who specifically selected members who approved of circumcision in order to endorse a view that favours the continued practices of male circumcision. But here's something interesting, Dr. Susan Blank also spoke at the Women's Issues Committee of New York in 2010 — a group which, ...

Fashion show with woman holding man on leashBy Denise Noe

Recently, in my capacity as Community Editor of The Caribbean Star, I reported on a fashion show. The holders of the show helpfully sent me some photographs taken at the event. Two were of women modeling clothes.

One was of a male and a female model on the runway together. Both were very attractive and both were smiling. However, this photograph cannot be said to exemplify gender “equality.” The woman is attired in high heels, a loose-fitting skirt with an uneven hem, and a leopard spotted top while the man is barefoot and wearing only a leopard spotted loincloth and dark glasses. The woman is standing and holding a leach attached to a dog collar around the man’s neck. He is in a crawling position on all fours.

I couldn’t help but think that there would have been a roaring public outcry at the fashion show had the positions of the man and the woman been reversed. ...
