What is 'misandry' and what is 'anti-misandry'?
Misandry is the hatred of males as a sex, as opposed to misogyny, the hatred of women; or misanthropy, hatred of the human species. Misandry comes from misos (Greek μῖσος, "hatred" + andr-ia (Greek anér-andros, "man". Those holding misandric beliefs can be of either sex. Thus it holds to common sense that Anti Misandry is to work toward removing misandry from our culture.

Can you give me some demonstrations of misandry?
Sure. Have a look at the second-wave feminist view of men for an example. Valerie Solanas, the radical feminist who shot Andy Warhol in 1968, provides a famous example of misandry in her self-published SCUM Manifesto. In case you're wondering, SCUM is an acronym for 'Society for Cutting Up Men', practically a call for gendercide, the culling of men. Quite literally, Solanas expressed her desire to "institute complete automation and destroy the male sex."

Wow, this is pretty bad stuff - what can I do about misandry? For one thing, you can stop accepting it as a ...

The parent, or not the parent?
However, it is possible to tell the CSA that you're not the parent. According to the same UK government website:
When someone denies they’re the parent of a child, the Child Maintenance Service or the CSA will:
    • ask them for evidence proving they’re not the parent
    • tell the other parent what’s happened and ask for evidence to prove parentage
They do not, however, commit to actually doing anything about it even if the other parent fails to prove parentage.

Should a man dispute that he is the father, then bureaucracy triumphs: if the amount the CSA want from him has not been calculated, he can withhold payment but if they have already worked out how much they want off him, he has to keep paying until the matter is sorted out.

The government makes it very clear about what will happen if the disputed parentage is proven and no payment has been made: "If the person is found to be the parent, the amount of child maintenance they have to pay will be back-dated." So, one might think that in the opposite case, where the parentage is disproved and payment has been made, the money will be refunded. Well, not necessarily, and the government makes this statement:
Named person proves they’re not the parent...
Refunds depend on the circumstances of each case.

Ironic Misandry is a Thing, and we’re confused

YES, THERE'S EVEN A HASHTAG on Twitter for it, you guessed it : #IronicMisandry.

The term may have originated with a blog piece in Slate.com by Amanda Hess, but it may have been in circulation prior to that, I can’t keep up with every trendily trending trend that happens along in social media.

    Posted verbatim on Antimisandry Forum:

    "Ironic Misandry", seriously

    Original:

Ironic misandry: Why feminists joke about drinking male tears and banning all men.

But recently, while on Twitter enjoying the #WomenAgainstFeminism hashtag queues and others (#FeministDictionary, #HumanityAgainstSexism), I began noticing early on that people male and female both were asking various apologists of feminism to clarify their views or cite examples, whereupon the

For anyone following the #womenagainstfeminism hashtag on Twitter, or the other online venues where this is trending, one will readily observe just how often the charge is made (or is it a defense?) that the W.A.F.s and friends simply "don't understand" feminism.

Actually, I think they're right. After a lifetime of being told, going back to the sixties, that my kind (the dread White Man) were responsible for pretty much everything bad that ever happened to anyone else not like us, I decided to check it out myself.

I read Brownmiller, Ehrenreich, Friedan, and Caldicott, to name but a few. I hung out with, worked with, listened to, and attended public events with, self-identifying feminists, for years. I saw women in the 80s wearing running shoes to work to "Take Back the Night" and went on to wonder if they had, as heels got higher and higher until anatomically self-immolating footwear had become the new symbol of "empowerment."

Picture yourself dating one guy after another when you know you beat out 20 other really good women to get with him. Because being good, after all, isn't enough. You have to be an alpha - the best, the dominant, the tough girl.

Imagine having to give off vibes that you'll provide for him and die for him if it comes down to him or you in an emergency. Imagine knowing that if you lose your job, in this shitty economy, you're utterly worthless to him, even though if he's out of a job, that's okay with you. Let's say a woman attacks a male stranger for some reason and you are humiliated for not coming to his rescue. Let's say that in a fire, the firefighters save him first and come for you next - leaving you at risk of dying in a collapse. Let's say that when the ship is sinking, you're held back from the lifeboats at gunpoint, so he can get on first. Let's just say that when the shit really hits the fan and people die in a disaster, and you pick up a newspaper, it says

25th April is Parental Alienation Awareness Day.

To support the endeavour to keep children in healthy contact with both their parents, and to keep both parents involved with their children's lives, antimisandry.com has published its first ever e-book. My Parents Were Aliens is a small booklet aimed to explain to children and adults alike what parental alienation is, how it affects children and how simple it can be to stop it.

My Parents Were Aliens is available free in two formats, the widely-supported epub format for many e-books and independent readers, and in pdf format for viewing on computers with appropriate viewing software.
