We're Back On Line... ish

Well, AM has had another facelift - and it went slightly wrong for me.. Resulting in a LOT of headache, researching, scratching around for scraps of information and calling on the software developers to assist... but, we got there in the end.

However, we are a few bits short from the usual stuff you're used to.

For example there is no 'similar topics' search function when posting new content and there is a lack of the 'like' button too... both of them shall return in due course.

Anyway, welcome back - and my apologies for the downtime.

The "like" function was good - a way to voice your agreement without having to actually type something.

And, is all that extra info under the avatar of each post going to stay? Or is that temporary too?

Never mind about the extra functions which amuse us, that the forum is up and running is what matters.

Had me scared for a bit there.

At first I thought is was on my end. Checked my system. After that I checked two of those down-or-not sites, no problems there, AM was up just I couldn't get to it. Then I thought maybe my ISP had blocked access to AM. No they were still allowing other sites. Then I began to think that maybe it was a UK thing; seeing some of the laws over there I thought maybe a UK ISP had decided to silence "certain" politically incorrect websites. Only after further checking I began to think something happened on AM's end, like maintenance or it got hacked like the spearhead recently - it was the spearhead right. Anyway, glad to see things turned out.

I have to agree with the Celtic Druid here. I love all the bell and whistles, but I'm just glad to be able to get back in. I can wait to get some of the little things back.

I'll second this and add a beer. I have only the faintest idea of what it takes to admin for a place like AM but it has got to be a pain in the ass.

Hey Marx

We still have a few problems.

1. Going directly to http://antimisandry.com/ does not show a link for the forum.

2. Logging in an selecting Notifications->Inbox shows a not found page for me.

Few other similar issues.

Maybe it's the browser your using? I checked the link using Google Chrome and it was fine. Mozilla repeated your query?

Believe it or not, he's right - I'd noticed this too and spent much of yesterday banging my head against a wall trying to suss this out... I've just woken up now and this is the first thread I've looked at, had an epiphany and solved the problem.

It's now all good. That's one less problem. I have an idea about the inbox issue..

The only way for me to get in is to actually google am.com.

I cannot use the shortcut I have to get into the forum.

I had no idea the site was even on line.

All I would say to good folk inquiring about smaller points of contention, that if you are reading this and probably capable of posting, doesn't make you an emergency in the next week or so, as Karl starts to reassemble the forum.

This splendid fellow says it much better about not worrying unnecessarily.
