Some problems / downtime due

There are a few problems with some of the files on this site. It seems some heavy duty maintenance is due.

Therefore, the site will suffer some down time in the immediate future.

This will likely occur on Sunday / Monday area.

It may last anywhere between a few hours, or even a day or two.

I noticed some odd things happening when I was posting quoted replies, a couple of posts got oddly merged..

Merged posts are almost exclusively by the hand of an admin, and accompanied by a note stating so in the lower left hand corner, just like a standard 'edited by' note.

Wasnt like that.. two seperate posts came up together in the "reply" window, for some reason..

I chopped the top post off and replied to the one I wanted to..

Odd, at first I thought I had picked the wrong post...

Then you had accidently hit 'multi quote'.

Multi quote works by storing the individual messages you want to quote from. When you hit either 'quote' (in a single post) or 'reply', it brings up the stored posts as part of the reply message so you can quote them. I'ts a normal function, if underused.

Test it out for yourself, you'll see it in action, by clicking two or more of these icons in seperate posts (note they turn red when selected):

AH!! I see marx! You are right, I did that because I thought Multi_quite was going to keep the quotes nested, which is what I wanted because I needed to see the context of the replies i was replying to.
