New Posting Rules for Antimisandry.com

Morning all you lovely lot!

I've implemented some new posting rules that I'd appreciate you review and follow. To simplify this, I have included a break-down of the rules within the page you use when posting a new thread.

NOTE: This pertains largely to NEW threads, not so much replies. Nonetheless, I would like to see the replies following similarly, for example, curbing language and showing respect towards fellow members here.

PLEASE remember to review them when posting new content and please try to follow them. They're fairly easy to get to grips with. For your information purpose, I'll include a copy here too.

The DON'T list:

* Copy entire articles.
* Duplicate content (check similar threads).
* Include irrelevant quotes.
* Post illegal or adult natured content (inc. images).
* Argue in an unprofessional manner.

The DO list:

* Include a relevant link to support your post.
* Quote pertinent portions from any link you provide.
* Write your opinion regarding the topic you are posting on.
* Give a keyword-rich title to your new topic.
* Remember to TAG the thread (above) to help others find your post.
* Curb your language and show respect for fellow members.

What I'm after from these rules is a site that gives UNIQUE perspectives. I've been reading up on tips for hosting forums, and I've found that one of the biggest issues a forum encounters is that they often parrot information elsewhere. That is precisely what occurs when people quote an entire article. Google then realises it's only a copy of something else and puts a minus on AM

and a plus

on the other site, thus sending AM down the list of valuable resources.

If we want AM to succeed, we need to stop focusing on copying texts from elsewhere and give our opinions on the issues instead. So ideally, when posting about a news article, we should take some important quotes from that news article that give viewers an idea of what it is about in general followed by our own opinions on the article and then a link so people can view it in full if they so wish.

This will translate into google as being unique content, and fresh. This then means we get more google-ticks rather than google-crosses.

Another important aspect that YOU can help direct is the adverts on this site. Many of you have complained in the past about adverts being for things unrelated to our site. I have read and understood these concerns but I don't hold a lot of sway in persuading google to offer more relevant adverts.

What I CAN DO though is tell google where to focus it's spiders for content reading. So I have no added special codes to the TAGS and TITLE area, that tell google to give priority to those two areas of any page.

This means YOU have to put in KEYWORDS that are relevant to the topic you are posting about. In time (about 2-4 weeks) if you have been giving proper titles AND tagging the thread appropriately, google will have been focusing long enough to have a better idea of what we're talking about. That will then allow google to offer more appropriate adverts for this site.

Again, I must emphasize, this is something only YOU can affect. If you don't add any tags to your posts - you can expect google to serve up unrelated adverts. If you put an ambiguous title to your thread, you can expect google to serve up unrelated adverts.

So ideally, when posting a new thread about your new car - don't add just 'car' or 'vehicle' to the tag box, try putting in precise words that narrow it down to your model of car. Similarly with the title, don't use a title like "Look here!" as google finds that useless. Instead, use a title alike to "Finally got my dream car - the SUX6000 limited edition!"

If you guys want AM to get better google results AND more appropriate adverts on your page, please try to follow these basic guidelines I've set out in the OP.

Illegal where?

Libya? China? Most stuff here is illegal in London and New York. It criticises feminism.

All of it is illegal in Hobart.

I wouldn't even know how to do half the things you asked to do, so I will continue on my merry way as before, except for posting full articles, I will provide links instead and a brief summary of them. As for tagging and what not, I have no idea how or what they are.
