Lost posts (8th November '09)

Today a situation caused by a nameless person, whom I shall take great pleasure in teasing & mocking from hereon, occurred which resulted in me being forced to use a back-up of the site. Thankfully the backup was only a couple of hours old, so we haven't lost too much.

Nonetheless, I wanted to draw your attention to this to avoid any paranoid ideas that people's posts have been mass-deleted.

Nothing has been deleted, but being made to use the back-up has resulted in posts/threads over the last 2-3 hours vanishing. This also includes profile messages, private messages, reputation, etc.

Don't be alarmed - it was just a screw-up.

No, the back-up has replaced the old file. There is now no means to replace them. They're gone - forever.

I didn't write any all that special posts at that time... but I did write the 2-3 longest posts I have ever written

You had some great points, but I think you went too far out there. You are certainly not "god's greatest gift to mankind" and shouldn´t end every post with "I roxoxoxoxoxoxored".

Besides that I was impressed (and slightly impressed) with your knowledge about toilets arround the world...
