No, it was a late night and I'd forgotten to enable access to regular members. Only admins had access until this moment (midday, 24th Apr)

Just a side note, this service is quarterly paid for seperately away from the websites costs - though I've rather cunningly managed to get it using the name irc.antimisandry.com (muwahahahaaaaar)... So, as this is a paid service and not using some free version, I am keen for members to actually make use of it. I tried this previously and only a select few (about 5) used it. If it isn't used by a reasonable number the service will be discontinued as a waste of resource.

When I get off my lazy ass and sort out the DNS, you'll be able to use:

/server irc.antimisandry.com

But, for the moment, use 206.41.117.51 and port 6667. I haven't checked yet whether 6665-6669 works, but 6667 is the standard and works.

Will that be a chat server whereby members of both forums can interact together?

I'm not in charge of the system, so I can't be 100% certain what they're intending - but I can say that I get the impression that what you suggest would be the outcome.

As I understand, NG will set up a chat server, there will be an 'entry point' where verification is performed and then the member is moved from the entry-room to the respective room of their choice.

AM will simply link to it (I think?) and so everyone will meet up in the 'lobby' so to speak.

I was waiting there for some time (think hours) before I had to go to Kendo.

Would be good if there was a little Icon we could click on in the Main area to access the chat room, whatever form that takes.

A lot of what is going on here at AM, seems to be real-time, given the number of people posting, a chatroom would be the icing on the cake, so to speak.

I was using mIRC, which could explain why no-one turned up.

Just my opinion.

It's ready to go. The new server is up and running thanks to various donators. Marx just needs to get in touch with me to integrate it with the site. It's dead-easy to use. You just click a link, create a username and password, and log in. You'll be taken to the lobby automagically.
