Whenever our alleged ‘Watchdogs’ of the bought and paid for ‘Free Press’ turn their politically myopic gaze on the subject of ‘Banned Books” and other forms of censorship, it is a good bet that they have first adjusted their own ideological blinders to filter out all ‘Ungood’ information that might sully the purity of Their Own Cause…

– To Wit: the Radical Leftist / Gender Feminist / Homosex Political Mau Mauing of the ‘Vanilla’ (clueless readers / voters) in to voting as they are told in the next election.

The Pleasanton CA Library has long provided an example of such Biased Extremist Political Agendas at work in our allegedly unbiased public ‘information’ services, and such ‘hyrstory’ is well documented with the Library Commission. However, the treatment of Author Tammy Bruce and her vitally important book “The Death of Right and Wrong” , serves as a classic example of the types of subterfuge employed to cover up what our Old Media ‘Watchdogs’ would otherwise (were the politics reversed) denounce as Blatant Censorship.

Tammy Bruce is one of the Authors most hated and feared by the Left, not because she says much that others haven’t already done before, but because she was once a true believer / insider (Former Head of the NOW in L.A.) and her exposure of her former comrades in the Twysted Systerhood is absolutely devastating of all their pretensions.

In fact Tammy Bruce is so heavily censored herself, that despite being the most prominent Woman / Homosexual on Der Arnold’s “Transition Team” when he took office after the recall, the Only Mention of her in the Frisco Paper was as part of a list of that team, without any explanation. Not only were her books ignored (even giving a bad review was considered taboo, as it might lead people to read her book anyway) but her prominent position during and after the recall was virtually blacked out by the Old Media. It wasn’t until September of 2009 that the Frisco Crock-a-bull again allowed her to be published (on electoral sexism) in print (The Contra Costa Times / MediaNews / Singleton syndicate still refuses to acknowledge her).

Anywayyyy… The Death of Right and Wrong came out in 2003 (during the recall hoopla) and was an immediate controversial hit – exposing as it did from the inside the agenda of Misandry and Bigotry of the Radical Gender Feminist / Homosex movement. The Pleasanton Library actually acquired a copy of it and placed the book on the “New Books” shelf, along with other recent arrivals, so the public could be exposed to this fine work. The purpose of the new books shelf was to expose the public to new works and authors they might not otherwise have been aware of, and is often touted as part of their commitment to ‘diversity’. Ahem.

However, The Death of Right and Wrong, shortly after being placed on the New Books shelf in Pleasanton - was summarily removed and hidden away on a back shelf between dusty old male bashing tirades from the 1970s era. This was entirely contrary to existing library policy, which provided for a set period of time for display on New Books before rotation to the stacks.
When I went to look for a copy of the book I learned what had been done – I wanted to find out why the Library had violated its own rules for New Books and length of display times as regarded this work. I was chagrinned to discover that the head librarian, Julie Farnsworth (makes @$130k/ yr for the job), knew full well about the treatment of Tammy Bruce’s important New Book and its removal from public display, and was completely in favor of such unique treatment.

Farnsworth’s ‘answer’ to the question of why this form of Censorship had been employed to keep the book from the public, was that: “People who Already Know about this Author and her New Book would be able to find it using the catalog…” If they were lucky of course, as so many ‘Ungood’ books simply seem to disappear without any trace at all.

Farnsworth simply refused to discuss how the removal of a New Book from the New Book shelf for Political Reasons flatly destroys the very purpose of a New Book shelf, let alone why This Particular Book was Singled Out for such Unique Treatment. No doubt, like other forms of Thought Policing by the Left, the notion of exposing the public who may not be familiar with a work or author to information which debunks the Political Ideology of the Library Staff – is simply Too Ungood for Words.

I have run in to these types of Political Censorship in far too many libraries over too many years, all pointed at censoring certain types of material, to ascribe it to chance or error any more. Besides Ms. Bruce, certain other types of authors have aroused the Censors Ire more than others, and sometimes lead to books being banned or simply treated in a number of ways to make them ‘disappear. Such appears to be the case with “Legalizing Misandry” – which Alameda County refuses to even list in their catalog. The purpose of such Total Censorship of an Entire Subject Category is to avoid even the inclusion of the Very Subject of Misandry in any data base that can be searched by Library Patrons – and thus Censor the Very Concept (a Thought Police Tradition) of Institutional Hatred of Men.

Finally, although our “Watchdogs” avoid this topic as well – Many Libraries often chooses books using only lists provided by ideologically biased newspapers like the NY Times and SF Chronicle, which often refuse to review books which do not conform to their politics. Such Scams have been used in Pleasanton / Alameda to effectively censor books – Simply by saying, “If it isn’t on the review list, we don’t order it.”

Beyond these bureaucratic means of viewpoint discrimination, other means have also been used to limit what readers are allowed to see. Some of the more common methods encountered in the past (and thus worth looking out for in the future) include:

1.) Censorship by Indexing. Some places actually have books by heretic authors in their collections. The problem being that they are not cross-referenced in the indexes under subject headings where they naturally fit.
For instance, at the University of the Pacific in Stockton Ca, some Ungood Books about Feminism are actually in the library but not cross-referenced. Thus, if you run a subject search (Misandry, or Feminism) the books do not appear in the electronic catalog. It is only if you already know that they are there and specifically search by author or title that you can find them, and others doing a subject search (say a new student researching the field) would never know such Ungood works even existed.

2.) New Book Scam. A perennial favorite, occurring regularly in many libraries. When new books come in they are marked as such, and steered to a special browsing section of the library for display to the public, usually for up to a year or more. This ensures that patrons get a chance to see what is new and available. The scam is to remove the label or alter the system so certain new books are never registered as such, and then let them rot on the shelves where they are not going to be found unless looked for.

3.) Check Out Scam. This often works in conjunction with new book scams, where a group of zealots will check out a new book in serial order (placing reserve holds on it) for the maximum length, and then renew it again. I have seen some scams that kept books out of circulation for over a year, which in turn meant that it was removed from the new book section and again buried on a back shelf.

4.) Hide & Seek. This is a perennial favorite of many, as you simply take a book and relocate it to a dusty shelf dealing with other issues, and nobody can find it or even claim it was checked out and lost. Of course certain types of books are often not looked for as hard as other kinds of books, in certain kinds of libraries.

There are of course other methods, such as controlling book selection at the outset, which is more common to the pathetic farce of Academentia although depending on a Newspaper list for ‘acceptable’ books can produce the same effect, without the specific blame for censorship. Regardless, many Public Library Patrons have missed out on important information over the years, all at the hands of such politically motivated Censorship Zealots, who want to control what we are allowed to read and think. That tax money is used to subsidize such Censorship is a particular disgrace.

Of course Censorship can take many different forms. Consider – The Alameda County Library System refuses to even recognize MISANDRY as a Subject Category – and rejects all books with that term in the Title. This was again confirmed in their refusal to even catalog the book: Legalizing Misandry: From Public Shame to Systemic Discrimination Against Men. (By Nathanson & Young – 2006)

Unlike Misogyny (hatred of women) and Misanthropy (hatred of humanity), which have both Subjects and Contents on file, Misandry is such a ‘non word’ for them that even other books dealing with the Issue (The War Against Boys by C.H. Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace

On Sunday, 31 pastors from 20 states preached "election sermons," applying the truth of Scripture to the records and platforms of persons running for public office. Many American pastors have been conscientiously conflicted since, in 1954, Congress gave the IRS a mandate to restrict churches from endorsing or opposing candidates for office. Some pastors have done so, nonetheless, risking loss of their church's tax exemption. Others have chosen silence. America has been the worse for it.

But what of the freedoms of speech, religion and assembly? After years of ambiguity, these IRS regulations may finally be examined in the light of the Constitution. While Barry Lynn and others are up in arms, and have already filed formal complaints with the IRS, these pastors, working with the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF), have sent or will send video copies of their sermons to the IRS. ADF hopes the IRS will act; that the U.S. Supreme Court will rule on this matter; and that the pulpits of our land will once again hold our nation's leaders to a Biblical standard. The issue has now been forced into the public discourse.

Father Frank Pavone, a member of FRC's Pastors Council and Founder of Priests for Life, has said, "This effort is not about bringing politics into the pulpit; it's about getting government out of the pulpit... It should be church authority, not government authority, that determines the criteria for how pastors should address politics."

Flighty Votes from Little ACORNS Grow

Writing in today's Washington Times, former Senators Warren Rudman (R-N.H.) John C. Danforth (R-Mo.) call on both campaigns to work together to reduce incidents of fraud this election year. They point out how both campaigns have squads of attorneys for either self-protective or nefarious reasons and that "(b)efore the 2004 presidential election, lawyers filed more than 60 lawsuits concerning voting procedures." Writing elsewhere columnist Mona Charen brings up a glaring example of how wary we need to be about voter fraud this November 4th.

Her column exposes the uber-liberal, taxpayer-funded Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). ACORN says it is "the nation's largest grassroots community organization of low- and moderate-income people." However, their two main accomplishments appear to be perpetuating voter fraud and furthering their reliance on the federal trough.

ACORN employees are under investigation in a number of places, most of them battleground states. Both candidates need to do everything in their power to ensure that voter fraud does not occur.

Leno sets one debate, Ammiano bows out

The (not so) Great Debate: Among the questions city voters will decide Nov. 4 is who should represent the city in the state Assembly and Senate.

But while the Democratic candidates - Mark Leno for the Senate and Tom Ammiano for the Assembly - are the odds-on favorites in this overwhelmingly liberal city, voters won't get much of a chance to evaluate the alternatives.

Leno has just one debate scheduled with his opponent, Republican Sashi McEntee. That debate, hosted by the League of Women Voters, will take place at the San Francisco Public Library at 7 p.m. on Oct. 7....

Ammiano, however, has rejected a request from his Republican opponent, Harmeet Dhillon, for a debate. Dhillon wrote to the supervisor asking for a debate sometime in early October. Ammiano responded in a letter, saying, "My schedule does not permit me to participate in a debate."

But Dhillon campaign manager Ed Sheppard noted that Ammiano, a former comic, performed at Comedy Day at Golden Gate Park on Sunday. "If he is really that busy, how does he have time for that event?" Sheppard said.

(Ammiano's set, in case you're wondering, included a joke about how U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein's hair belongs in the movie "Planet of the Apes" and several risqué punch lines that we can't print in a family newspaper.)

Lawmaker Accused of Fannie Mae Conflict of Interest = October 03, 2008 By Bill Sammon Fox News WASHINGTON —

Unqualified home buyers were not the only ones who benefitted from Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank’s efforts to deregulate Fannie Mae throughout the 1990s. So did Frank’s partner, a Fannie Mae executive at the forefront of the agency’s push to relax lending restrictions.

Now that Fannie Mae is at the epicenter of a financial meltdown that threatens the U.S. economy, some are raising new questions about Frank's relationship with Herb Moses, who was Fannie’s assistant director for product initiatives. Moses worked at the government-sponsored enterprise from 1991 to 1998, while Frank was on the House Banking Committee, which had jurisdiction over Fannie.

Both Frank and Moses assured the Wall Street Journal in 1992 that they took pains to avoid any conflicts of interest. Critics, however, remain skeptical. "It’s absolutely a conflict," said Dan Gainor, vice president of the Business & Media Institute. "He was voting on Fannie Mae at a time when he was involved with a Fannie Mae executive. How is that not germane?

"If this had been his ex-wife and he was Republican, I would bet every penny I have - or at least what’s not in the stock market - that this would be considered germane," added Gainor, a T. Boone Pickens Fellow. "But everybody wants to avoid it because he’s gay. It’s the quintessential double standard."

A top GOP House aide agreed. "C’mon, he writes housing and banking laws and his boyfriend is a top exec at a firm that stands to gain from those laws?" the aide told FOX News. "No media ever takes note?

Imagine what would happen if Frank’s political affiliation was R instead of D? Imagine what the media would say if [GOP former] Chairman [Mike] Oxley’s wife or [GOP presidential nominee John] McCain’s wife was a top exec at Fannie for a decade while they wrote the nation’s housing and banking laws."Frank’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Frank met Moses in 1987, the same year he became the first openly gay member of Congress.

"I am the only member of the congressional gay spouse caucus," Moses wrote in the Washington Post in 1991. "On Capitol Hill, Barney always introduces me as his lover."
The two lived together in a Washington home until they broke up in 1998, a few months after Moses ended his seven-year tenure at Fannie Mae, where he was the assistant director of product initiatives. According to National Mortgage News, Moses "helped develop many of Fannie Mae’s affordable housing and home improvement lending programs."

Critics say such programs led to the mortgage meltdown that prompted last month’s government takeover of Fannie Mae and its financial cousin, Freddie Mac. The giant firms are blamed for spreading bad mortgages throughout the private financial sector.Although Frank now blames Republicans for the failure of Fannie and Freddie, he spent years blocking GOP lawmakers from imposing tougher regulations on the mortgage giants. In 1991, the year Moses was hired by Fannie, the Boston Globe reported that Frank pushed the agency to loosen regulations on mortgages for two- and three-family homes, even though they were defaulting at twice and five times the rate of single homes, respectively.

Three years later, President Clinton’s Department of Housing and Urban Development tried to impose a new regulation on Fannie, but was thwarted by Frank. Clinton now blames such Democrats for planting the seeds of today’s economic crisis."I think the responsibility that the Democrats have may rest more in resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was president, to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac," Clinton said recently.

During this week's "Banned Books Week," not everyone is celebrating the freedom to read. Since 1982, the American Library Association (ALA) has used the last week of September to highlight America's diversity of worldviews. Now Focus on the Family is working to ensure that this "diversity" includes social conservatism.

At a Fairfax, Virginia rally yesterday, dozens of students wore shirts that said, "Closing Books Shuts out Ideas" to bring attention to the censorship taking place in public schools.

As part of the initiative, students tried to donate several books to local libraries, including several titles that would bring greater balance to the homosexual debate.

As the Washington Post reports, a majority of the books were denied on the grounds that they didn't meet the schools' standards. School official Susan Thornily said the books' message offended a minority group, making it unacceptable for young readers. As Focus spokesman Candi Cushman said, "True tolerance isn't promoting censorship; it's trying to fight it."
