I am wondering with all of the talent here if all of us could come up with the ultimate activist letter? It would have to be fairly short-say one or two page printable - as most ppl won't read a long drawn out letter. It would have to have impact. It would have to be written in such a way that people would take it seriously. If all of us did one letter then we all took the best letters and put them into one with our astounding editing capabilities-what would we end up with? anyone interested in such a thing? If any of you are interested-i will be glad to offer a used in v.g.c. book as a reward for the best final edit of such a project.I will pay all postage. the book is called; " Legalizing Misandry" "From public shame to systemic descrimination against men" written by; Paul Nathanson and Catherine K. Young I know it isn't much of a prize but its all i have got,it is about the most informative book i have ever read on the subject. The real prize would be the end result.

Good idea. I worry that the MRM has degenerated into some sort of a third rate writers group.. Not that a second rate one would be much better, or even a first rate one would even make much impact!! Still, as there are approximately 10 zillion subtle flavours of MRM flavoured poo sandwhich fillers to be digested during a lunch break, it must be possible for someone to come up with a goody.. The same things are repeated ad infinitum with usually little impact or improvement despite having been through 10 zillion digestive tracts.. No doubt, the usual disagreements will happen.. But, would be worthy of a try!!

The ultimate letter would be custom made, specific to the topic and the matter at hand. If there was a company that created a misandric television ad (for example), we could be less effective to send some form letter but more effective to address the exact reason why the ad is misandric. Rather than developing a pre-packaged narrative, what we should be doing is developing a "cheat sheet" of facts. In such letters as the above, we could draw upon that cheat sheet for 2 or 3 facts that underscore and reinforce our argument. For example, if the ad showed a woman hitting a man, we could express our opposition first, then provide 2 or 3 studies (fewer is better) that show that men are also victimized by DV but receive little assistance or understanding as victims. The cheat sheet should have sections. These could include DV, employment, children, military service, and so on. A great place to draw material for all our issues is here: http://www.ncfm-tc.org/mansworld/ For DV specifically, my site DVStats.org provides a way to narrow down specific kinds of studies to a given topic, sample size, author, published year, or even a word. As far as a letter goes, it may be useful to write a "sample" letter that will serve as a guide. Such a letter could be assertive but not rude, specific but not hair-splitting. It should also contain a clear call to action ("Please remove the ad immediately," or "Please change the focus of your product's advertising campaign"). We may have to create multiple sample letters. One for lawmakers, another for advertising executives, and another for refuting our opponents in the blogosphere.

Great sites John I just looked at them. What a wealth of knowledge at my finger tips. One of the reasons I have been hesitant to write letters is because I didn't want to send out information that was not accurate but now I don't have that problem with these awesome sites. I can also use them for youtube video's this is great. Chevalier. "no greater love hath a man than to lay down his life for his brother."

The big problem with any form of communication to large companies is that usually the person you want to read it doesn't. Even personal email addresses are usually just sent to a nameless, faceless drone who doesn't have any say in the every day runnings of the company. Obviously there is exceptions to this rule but not very often. The only real way to get results is to send loads of emails, I mean thousands of them. Only then does the issue get attention from the higher ups. But to do this you obviously need to be organised which I think is sadly the thing we lack the most at the moment. ![]()
