Men's Hour

Quote:
This is the home of the men's hour, an internet radio programme. Our answer to the sexist BBC's claim that the woman's hour has general appeal and therefore there's no need for a men's hour. There is need for a men's hour. Recent discussions on the Woman's Hour include whether men should pay child support for children that the mother claimed were theirs, whether there is such a thing as male menopause, whether family courts proceedings should be reportable. All these discussions had mainly feminist or feminist inclined opinions.

The men's hour intends to bring you items they don't want to discuss. When did you last hear about the increasing male suicide rate, how boys are being undermined at school and how fathers are being arrested for such things as saying "Hello" to their own children? All this and more will be brought to you by the men's hour, including a bit from the lighter side. For example, has anyone warned Germaine Greer about foot and mouth disease, after all it affects creatures with cloven hooves.
Here are a few of my favourite Men's Hour interviews:
Carnell Smith about paternity fraud: mp3

Sue Price about the Men's Rights Agency in Australia: Part one, Part two, Part three,

Barry Worrall about the destruction of marriage: Part one, Part two, Part three, Part four,

Matthew O'Connor about Fathers Christmas protest: mp3

As some of you will know, I've turned a few Men's Hour episodes in to videos, and uploaded them to YouTube: Men's Hour playlist

The Tom Leykis Show

Leykis Show airs Monday till Friday from 3 PM to 8 PM (Pacific Time) in America. He’s one of the few people who stands up for men in the media. He gives useful advice, comes straight out and tells how things really are with women and such.
Basically, Tom acts as the voice of fatherly experience for a generation of guys that lacked the guidance of genuine fathers in their upbringing.

The format:
  • Monday through Wednesday: various topics, ranging from Tom’s personal experiences, to guests who write to the show, guest musicians, actors, etc.
  • Thursday: Leykis 101. It’s designed to be an intensely educational day for the guys, to get everyone warmed up for the weekend.
  • Friday: Flash Fridays. Drive throughout the day with your headlights on - there’s a slim chance you’ll get flashed by a lady, by the grace of Tom Leykis. Usually on Fridays Tom opens the phone lines and let’s the tape roll.
Every week Tom devotes an hour of his show to receiving calls specifically from the haters and feminists; callers that have anything positive to say about the show are told NOT to call, and that the harsher the criticisms of the show the haters have, the better their chances of getting on the air.

Tom wants the hardcore, truly vindictively awful femmies and manginas to call the show -- pretty much because he seems to enjoy a challenge when publicly crushing his ideological enemies into a small, paste-like consistency.

He gets the added bonus of having the foulest of the foul reveal their true face, to jump out from behind the facade, and essentially prove that everything Tom was saying is, in fact, correct.

If you have not listened to Tom Leykis before, you absolutely should tune in and turn on to the gospel of Tom. Leykis 101 Rules can be found here.

He’s right about many things. If you call in to the show and Tom doesn’t agree with your point then he’ll probably change your opinion when he’s done with you.

You can listen to his show by visiting this website http://leykisonline.com/leykis/index.php . Click the "Listen Live" link in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (3:00 - 8:00 PM Pacific Time (GMT - 8:00) & enjoy.
There's also a collection of Leykis’ work. Updates are nightly with MP3 streams of his shows which are recorded and posted.

I've only heard Tom Leykis a few times, and to tell you the truth, I think he's kind of an ass. Now granted, when I heard him speak, it was three years or so ago...maybe his style has changed some since back then. (I'm guessing not, however.) Personally, it seems to me like he enjoys fanning the flames of the gender war...like you said, anyone with anything positive to say is encouraged not to call. He reminds me of Jerry Springer, in a way....stirs up shit just for ratings' sake, not exactly for "educational" purposes.

He gives men positive feedback by choosing their side. That's valuable in itself. Also he gives them practical advice. He tells them to stay out of trouble in the workplace, not to allow women to take financial advantage of them and not to walk into the marriage trap.

He also tells men not to pursue a woman if she hasn't given it up (given him sex) by the third date. He also says never date single mothers. And he tells women that all men really want from them for is sex.

Re: Audio Men's Rights Activism: Tom Leykis, Marc Rudov, Mancast...

The biggest beef I have with Tom is that he only airs calls from people with extremist views...in other words, nut cases like himself who enjoy a good fight. Which is fine, it's entertaining at least...but it does paint a pretty negative (and false) portrayal of women in general.

But hey....maybe I the few samplings that I've heard of his show don't tell the whole story. Maybe I should listen to him a few more times before I decide if I think he's about as credible as Rush Limbaugh, Jerry Springer, or Howard Stern.

He talks about hot topics that most PC censored mass media would not dare to touch upon. He tells things like they really are without going around issues.

Jerry Springer is low IQ entertainment. In contrast, Tom Leykis mixes entertainment with education (edutainment). You can learn a lot by listening to his show and he's always spot-on and the people who call in tend to agree with his statements and observations eventually.

This is fair so they get a chance to voice their opinions and Tom will debate with them. It's during a special hour of the week:

That's bogus. All sorts of people call in.

Re: Audio Men's Rights Activism: Tom Leykis, Marc Rudov, Mancast...

A few years ago, my boyfriend and I went camping with his best friend and his best friend's girlfriend. Naturally she and I were left to get to know each other while the guys were off doing their own thing....which was fine, except for the fact that right off the bat there was something about her that just rubbed me the wrong way. Something distinctly unlikable about her personality. She was loud, obnoxious, dressed very vulgarly (her boobs were always hanging out of her extremely low cut shirts...) etc. It wasn't long after she and I started talking that she revealed to me that she was abusive to her boyfriend...physically abusive. And as she told me about some of their fights, and things she had done to him, my skin began to crawl. She related these incidents without any empathy at all...no remorse whatsoever...in fact she seemed to think that the stories she told were funny. The last story she told me is that she's a big Tom Leykis fan. She and her boyfriend had an occasion to meet Tom Leykis...and before they did so, she told her boyfriend that she intended to flash Tom when she saw him. Her boyfriend asked her not to. She said she was going to do it anyway. They had an argument about it. And true to her word, as soon as she saw Tom, she flashed him, with her boyfriend standing right there next to her.

She thought this story was really funny. I couldn't stop myself from telling her what a vile woman I thought she was.

But I have to wonder, is this the sort of following that Tom Leykis has?

This is a major red flag, the boyfriend should not tolerate her abusive behaviour and leave asap.

No, because if either of them called in and told the story Leykis would denounce it obviously. Tom Leykis teaches the male listeners to have a spine, balls and to stand up for themselves.

Yes, but ironically, he encourages women to act like the vile creatures he says they are. He should be speaking out against all these women who are flashing him (many of whom have boyfriends and husbands, no doubt.)

Two words come to mind: Jerry Springer.

The important thing is that he makes men think about their own interests. Our entire upbringing these days revolves mostly around the needs of women. A lot of men are concentrating on that. Tom encourages them to look out for themselves more. And it's not Tom's fault if the dating scene has become a battlefield.
