Woman runs down, kills husband

A woman has been accused in the death of her husband after she apparently intentionally ran over him with her car during an argument in southwest Harris County late Monday night, authorities said.

The incident occurred in the 13000 block of Balarama near Beckford about 10:45 p.m., according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Donald Wesley Holmes, 29, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His wife, April Holmes, 29, of Houston, is charged with murder, according to Harris County records. She is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Deputies said witnesses told investigators that the woman and her husband had been having marital problems and were arguing. Witnesses said the woman drove her car into the man and knocked him down and then she intentionally rolled over him several times with the car, deputies said.

Deputies said they found the car in the middle of the road and saw the woman behind the wheel and her husband lying under the car. The man was trapped beneath the car, which had to be lifted off him by a wrecker before he was taken to the hospital.

People just have no heart or dignity these days.

Running down people because of an arguement, stealing kids and bombing people.

This world truly is a mad, mad world and not in a good way.

I hope that woman gets the death penalty. She is heartless and doesn't deserve to see the light of day.

God bless that man and his family. I can't imagine the tragedy they have felt.

She probably will make excuses about being a victim and that he deserved to die because he was abusing her. Wouldn't be surprised if she gets only 10 years. Studies show women get an average of 6 years vs. 18 years for men when it comes to killing your spouse.

Since Texas is still quite conservative, they will probably give her the death penalty. Do they still do the electric chair?

He deserved it, he liked her wearing white high heels during sex. That was Winkler's defence, and most women, American women I might add, thought that was a justifiable reason to shoot your husband in the back as he lay sleeping.

$50K bail? Isn't the going rate for murder $1 mil?

Anyways, five grand through a bail bondsman and she walks for the next year or so while the trial gets postponed and delayed...all the while she gets a best selling book deal and enough money to supplement a better legal team which will get her off on some sort of "woe is me" defense or a simple loophole in our female friendly law system.

God dammit.

You know if she get's off or get's a slap on the wrist it will only make things worse, I have no doubt that sooner or later there will be vilgante mobs of men hunting down they bitches, why not there are mobs of women and femanazis who are given a green light to murder, rip off and mutilate men witout any really legal reprocussions.
