Woman in court accused of shooting boyfriend on Edinburgh doorstep

The girlfriend of a dad gunned down on his Edinburgh doorstep
has appeared in court, charged with his murder.

Caroline Igoe, 31, is alleged to have shot Martyn Barclay in the
head at an address in the city's Hazelwood Grove in January. Her
brother Paul Igoe, 36, has also been charged with the
26-year-old's murder.

The pair are accused of a number of firearms offences and are
said to have tried to defeat the ends of justice between January
and June this year.

The murder weapon was removed from the scene and Paul Igoe is alleged to have asked his father to hide the gun in his home. He is also accused of leaving a top worn during the alleged attack at another address, before asking a woman to pick it up.

He and his sister are said to have had the garment collected by a teenage girl before disposing of it.

A third man, Kenneth Carruthers, appeared at the High Court in Glasgow alongside the duo on Friday.

The 36-year-old faces two firearm charges and an allegation of attempting to defeat the ends of justice by burying the alleged murder weapon in Edinburgh's Craigmillar Castle Park.

All three have entered not guilty pleas and will appear for another preliminary hearing at the High Court in Edinburgh on December 3.
