Imagine the uproar if this had been a guy. He would have been called a vicious beast, abusing his poor wee wife all because she couldn't clean the kitchen exactly as he wanted it. ....Tubes.

I see the point you are making Lol, but my point is that the jails are too full as it is..

I am not saying "bollocking and punishment" are not required, I just wonder why the state needs to have to be so involved at such great expense (trial and imprisonment) when there are other means of dealing with such silly stuff..

I agree with you about jails being too full and also about them dealing with silly stuff but I don't think that chucking a knife at someone falls under the umbrella of silly stuff. What would you suggest people do when faced with this kinda stuff?

Aye it certainly is Percy. Feminists think us men are all woman beaters if they haven't cooked our dinner or something properly anyway so I'm sure they would find an excuse for this woman.

Having had several knifes and other things chucked at me (some hit the mark, some did not..) how one reacts depends on what one feels like at the time I suppose..

If a woman I lived with threw a knife at me and it missed, Id probably tell her to have another go and see if she could do better..

Then Id give her a good shafting!!

Why are we getting bogged down on this 'missed' business?

The point is that she is 'controlling' and violent. Both are DV. If a man did it he would be automatically maced, cuffed and jailed and then kept from his home. He would be dispossessed. Reams would be written about male violence. It would be on the TV news. He would be yet another example.

A man who finds his wife's cleaning skills good enough would be accused of tying her to the kitchen sink; demeaning her; oppressing her.

But she can do these things with impunity.

And here we have people 'missing' the misandric, double standard, almost entirely.

Ask yourselves, what if she'd had a 'hit', right in his heart, and killed him on the spot? There would be no talk of a 'unlucky' throw. And another man would be dead.

    True!

The thing about unconscious biases is that they don't feel like anything and you don't know they are in effect.

Just try rewriting a news article removing all gender references and role names such as wife or husband. Just person A and person B. Suddenly injustices and double standards are apparent.

If person A does something wrong to person B. This is the same as person B doing something wrong to person A. It should be just as wrong either way, with the same punishment if any in each case.

I think such matters are to do with the social dynamics of the couple involved. As should be the punishment, whatever is deemed appropriate, within reason of course!!
