I think you could be correct. 'Penis hacking' is part of the prevailing social vocabulary to which women gleefully indulge in reinforcing it's acceptance. I've mentioned previously how I find this as being one of the most disturbing traits of modern women and indicative of just how socially acceptable misandry has become.

I remember hearing or reading somewhere about Spaniard women who in centuries past had knives hidden under their skirts that they would use to castrate men who tried to have sex (rape?) with them. Maybe I can find concrete information on that.

If there were even a single incident of a man mutilating his woman over her infidelity, it would be a news headline for months on end, and all sorts of remedies from men's counselling and limited access to cutlery to women's self-defense training and empowerment programs would be promoted eccessively.

There is definitely something significant to this from both a historical and biological perspective. I've been gathering notes about historical incidences of penis hacking throughout many cultures. It ranges from cultural practices as you mentioned through to industrialized forms whereby vanquished armies were subject to hordes of knife-wielding women.

This goes back several millennia, so I'm wondering just how long it takes for such a barbaric social/political practice to become sufficiently ingrained into the collective female psyche, and for it to then become innate in evolutionary terms?

Heck, I even recently discovered that certain primates where matriarchies exist - 'wayward males' are attacked by groups of dominant females who routinely mutilated their genitalia.

Seriously, I believe there is a book waiting to be written here or/and a study undertaken (something that would strongly reinforce the concept of misandry worldwide).

I am extreemely disturbed by the commentators analysis of the issue. She clearly states that the reason this kind of thing happens is because of self defense. Bulshit. In the same breath she sais that this is the result of gender role oppresion and that women have few ways to assert their rights in a relationship so that is why this happens. Again, total bushit.
The fact is that it has become socialy acceptable for women to mutilate male genitalia. Misandry is the rule in every male female interaction in society.

Exactly, it's extremely difficult, if not impossible to cut off a man's penis in a genuine case of self-defense. But how feminists define self-defence is usually a proactive action based on something that may occur from a paranoid/hateful perspective.

It's not self-defence, just premeditated cold-blooded butchery under the guise of some phantom unsubstantiated threat! And let's not forget, even pop feminists like Oprah have been inciting women for decades to attack men based on the premise that they might be attacked first (I can only but imagine just how much violence against men and murders she is indirectly responsible for via her misandric inciting?).

I too was disturbed by the narrator and the production. The subtle messages sent by the opening scene of slabs of meat hanging from hooks and the end scene of a bunch of bananas was irreverent. Also, in most stories involving racial or sexual discrimination, the producers are sensitive enough to have a representive of the specific demographic do the piece, e.g. a woman for a story about women or a black person about a black story. The fact that the producers chose a woman for the penis-hacking story demonstrates that they viewed this as a woman's story, not a man's. Such gross misandry!

Regarding the self-defense issue, it was pointed out that Thai women view cutting of a man's dick as worse than killing him. So, no, it is not an act of self-defense, but rather an act of malicious destruction. What would be the equivalent for a woman? Having her boobs or nose cut off?

If it is innate there's a good chance it's nothing new.
