Jealous stepmother slowly tortured lover's baby to death

Last updated at 18:40pm on 3rd August 2007

An evil stepmother was behind bars today for slowly torturing her lover's little boy to death.

Sumairia Parveen, who had begun an affair with her cousin after walking out on her husband, "hated" the 17-month-old she feared threatened their relationship.
The boy's father, Abid Ikram, 30, "stood by and did nothing", while doctors repeatdly failed to spot the abuse, a court heard.
Parveen showered love on her own daughter, but subjected helpless Tahla Ikram to weeks of agonising abuse in the twisted hope he would be taken into care.
The child suffered a litany of fractures and bruises as his limbs were "twisted and pulled", he was burnt with a cigarette and even had his leg progressively sliced open until the wound was so deep tendons and veins were exposed.

Many of his injuries were ignored for days, causing him to scream as his broken bones ground together.
His agony would have been overwhelmingly obvious to anyone with him, London's Southwark Crown Court was told.
He was repeatedly taken to hospital but the fact each visit meant a different doctor may explain why his mounting injuries were not recognised as systematic abuse.
Various accounts were also given as to how he had been injured - falling down the stairs, slipping off a chair and playing with other children.
Jeremy Donne, QC, prosecuting, said the truth was totally different and could not have been more horrific. The child - who months earlier been in temporary care after police found him home alone - finally died in his cot, next to his father's double bed, on September 6 last year.
Ambulance staff called to the family home in Acton, west London, found the little boy cold, stiff and without a single sign of life.
But while the child's father appeared distressed, Parveen, 24, "stood back... quite calm".

His many injuries included a broken thigh and shin and three fractured ribs. A doctor who examined him said he looked like a car accident victim.
A post-mortem examination discovered marrow fat deposits from the untreated broken thigh had invaded his lungs, starved his brain of oxygen and caused death.
Both Ikram and Parveen, of Cheltenham Place, Ealing, west London, spent more than a week protesting their innocence.
While he wept as he told the court he "would never have hurt my son", she tearfully insisted she had loved him as if he "was my own".
But those trying the case took just six hours over two days to unanimously decide they were lying. Parveen - who had her accomplice's baby in prison - was cleared of murder but convicted of "causing or allowing the child's death".
She wept as the guilty verdict was announced.
Ikram, who once beat his son with a plastic cricket bat on her orders, had also faced a murder charge but after legal argument he was formally acquitted of it on the judge's directions.
He, too, was convicted of the "causing or allowing" count and was also found guilty of perverting the course of justice for sending his lover to Pakistan after his son's death.
He appeared stunned at the verdicts.
They will be dealt with on September 7 following the preparation of pre-sentence reports. The pair, who each face up to 14 months jail, were both remanded in custody.

This is very sad... just so very sad

I wonder what excuse feminists will find for her, perhaps it was all his doing - using mind control over her, or something...

Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

Also, how dysfunctional must the health system be to not pick this up? And what's wrong with the social aspect, didn't the neighbors notice anything, social workers, anybody?

One could see this as a one-off, but things like this happen far too often in far too many places. The West still looks like a civilization, but it is rotten to the core.

    Fourteen months? They face 14 months???? I don't...I...I can't...

    HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN???

    I feel sick.

Behold, the faces of evil. True evil. Don't tell me they didn't get off on it. They did, you know they did. That's the only explanation for why it was done in the way it was done.

Look in their eyes. There is no one there. Those eyes are dead. They remind me of a shark's eyes. Even a shark isn't evil, it just does what it was designed to do. I can't think of a fate bad enough for these two.

And they face 14 months. With time off for good behavior???

It would not have happened in Pakistan because all members of both extended families would have been watching and reporting.

It can happen in the UK because it's left to half-hearted, salary-paid, culturally-ignorant government employees to seek the "child's best interest".

East is East and West is West; but since they do actually meet, there will always be somebody, somewhere to f**k it up.

Update on this case is that they both got nine years. Not enough....but the prosecution case was that it was the stepmother who was responsible and that the father did nothing to prevent it. However, the jury decided that both were equally guilty-bet that wouldn't have happened if the genders were reversed.

Sadistic stepmother jailed for torturing boy to death

The sadistic parents of a young boy were jailed for nine years today for his "agonising" death.

Stepmother Sumairia Parveen, who had walked out on her husband to set up home with her cousin, "hated" the helpless 16-month-old she felt threatened their relationship.
While lavishing love on her own daughter she "caused or allowed" tiny Tahla Ikram to suffer weeks of abuse in the twisted hope he would be taken into care. scroll down for more

And although the Crown initially maintained the boy's father, Abid Ikram, 31, "stood by and did nothing", the jury decided they were probably equally responsible.
The child suffered a litany of fractures and bruises as his limbs were "twisted and pulled", he was burnt with a cigarette and had his leg progressively sliced open until the tendons and veins were exposed.
London's Southwark Crown Court heard many of his injuries were ignored for days, causing him to scream in agony as his broken bones ground together.

But the jury unanimously decided they were lying.
Parveen, who had her lover's baby in prison, was convicted last month of the "causing or allowing" offence - a relatively new one designed to cure a legal loophole that has seen many parents walk free because juries could not be sure who was responsible for a child's suffering. Ikram, who once beat his son with a plastic cricket bat on her orders, was found guilty of the same charge, as well as perverting the course of justice for sending his lover to Pakistan after his son's death.

Oh, that poor little boy. Nine years doesn't cut it, not even near. She tortured and murdered an innocent child...there isn't a fitting punishment for that, but not allowing that woman in society again, would be atleast be a start.

The Uk doesn't have capital punishment. What a shame, IMO.

He gets the same punishment for ignoring the torture and murder, as she gets for actually carrying it out?

Wait for her to lodge an appeal citing some kind of alleged past abuse.

Maybe psychological profiling should be mandatory for all prospective parents?

God have mrecy on that poor child, this does not surpise me at all though I have heard some much about how little boys are being troutred and murdered by women that I wish God would lay some holy smite on them, remember that news story about the women who cut off her son's man bits and carver up his leg and blamed it on the dog?

It's times like this I was not a christan and I had a good sniper rifle and plenty of ammo in most cases at worst I'd love to be alone with these sub human creature for four hours with a welding torch and a host of other device to cruel for the sane mind to consive of.

But all I can do is leave it up to God to deal with and it really pisses me off at times though to be able to do nothing to blance the scales so to speak.
