CBC News - Manitoba - Woman desperate after sick husband jailed

A Winnipeg woman says she's desperate to get her mentally ill husband out of jail after he was charged more than a month ago and held in custody in connection to an assault.
Rose McLeod said her 69-year-old husband, Joe, suffers from Alzheimer's. She said he woke up on Sept. 2 and he allegedly became aggressive with her after he didn't recognize her.
She called police after she fell. Officers came to her home and arrested Joe.
He's been in a medical ward of the Winnipeg Remand Centre ever since, she said.
McLeod said she wants the charges against her husband dropped. However police have long had a mandatory arrest policy in domestic-violence situations.
She said at the very least, she can't understand why he hasn't been placed in a secure ward for other people with mental-illnesses.
"I don't understand that either," she said. "You'd think they'd put him someplace where there's other people like him that's going through the same thing," McLeod added.
She and Liberal MLA Jon Gerrard held a press conference Wednesday to express her distress.
Gerrard said putting a man with Alzheimer's in jail is "appalling."
Court records show that Joe's case first appeared on the docket on Sept. 8. Since then, it has been remanded 11 times.
On three occasions, he appeared in domestic-violence bail court, but his family said he has yet to make a bail application.
His lawyer was out of town and unavailable for comment.

i seen their arrest policies first hand in d.v situations--even during a 0 tolerance week promoted by the local feminazi house.

it should have been 0 tolerance week for men reporting violent women

Fucking Aye! on that, one of these days the pigs are going to try and arest the worng man for so called DV and he'll see he has nothing left to lose and waste the pigs, not that I could blame him for it, maybe a few thousand dead pigs will send the message to back off and take a real long look at eachDV case insteadof just showing up and carting a man off to the gray bar hotel.

This is sick. People with Alzheimer can't help that, it's a very cruel disease. These people need help, not to be jailed. Those cops and all involved and those involved in keeping this man jailed should be put in jail themselves for the unhumane swines they are. They absolutely don't understand a darn thing of the extent of this disease.

Common practice when women are protesting against their husbands/boyfriends being jailed is that those protests are flat out denied by acting as if any request of such kind can only be because of 'fear' (feminist excuse for that no women could ever genuinely want their men not in ending up in jail) and otherwise she'll be threatened with charges if she won't continue lying for the feminist agenda.

Calling 911 equals being sentenced pretty much.
