Ont. woman stabs spouse over birthday dinner: police | | 'Ham, potatoes and vegetables, or potatoes, vegetables and ham?' Quote:
A 46-year-old woman in Barrie, Ont., is facing an assault charge for allegedly stabbing her common-law husband during a dispute over her birthday dinner.
Police in Barrie, Ont., say the woman was celebrating her birthday Tuesday night and had a few drinks with her spouse.
Sgt. Dan Mafturack says the victim asked the accused what she wanted for supper by saying, “Do you want ham, potatoes and vegetables, or potatoes, vegetables and ham?”
Police say this apparently upset the woman, who then allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her spouse in the chest.
Police later arrived at the home and found blood on the floor and the man with a chest wound.
He was taken to hospital and later released, while the woman was charged with assault with a weapon.
| My God. Why not charged with Attempted Murder? Surely if the man did that he would be charged with attempted murder. Link |
