Good ol'Canada-murderess blows kisses to adoring masses | | The sentencing of Father, Husband and Man Murderer, Teresa Craig this morning started at 9.30 am and was over by 9.56 am. The Murderer of Jack Craig wore a very pleasant looking dress and sported a new hairstyle. There was not an orange jumpsuit, handcuffs, or even a set of leg irons in sight. She smiled and waved to the adoring kiss-blowing masses as she entered the courtroom. There were 46 female supporters in the court, 7 men of indeterminate 'mission', two men definitely in support of the victim, 1 man from the Ontario Court in support of the murderer, the judge,1 court security person, 2 defence attorneys, 3 prosecuting attorneys, 2 court clerks, 2 reporters and 3 police officers. Representatives of LEAF, the Elizabeth Fry Society, SWC and the two directors representing the Ottawa area 'Shelter Industry' were present among the murderers supporters. The murderer entered the prisoner box for the very first time in 8 weeks. and sat quietly and calmly listening to the judges summary and sentence. She got 8 years in jail for the crime she was found guilty of-manslaughter- to be served in Kitchener. She was not handcuffed or restrained in any way and was 'gently' escorted to the cells by two police officers. Conventional wisdom was that she will be out on parole in less than three years but probably within two. The is a possibility of deportation to Malaysia her birth country, Jack Craig's son Martin is a ward of the Children's Aid Society and was not present to see his Murderer Mother sentenced. In the event of parole part of Craig's sentence might be served 'in the community' but this is not clear yet. Loud sobs could be heard from several of the Murderers female supporters. Members of the Shelter Industry later filmed everyone exiting the courtroom. Ah yes another stressful day covering 'justice' in Ottawa court. And all that before the Family law cases started. And that was a real treat.
