"Former corrections officer Kathleen Hill killed her husband when she pumped three bullets into his chest. But she was freed Wednesday to go home to her three children.The judge said he believed the man she killed, Shawn Hill, sexually tortured and abused her. ... in the case of Kathleen Hill, doctors for both the defense and the prosecution testified that she suffered from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder because she was a battered wife. If Hill meets the conditions of her release, she will never see the inside of a prison. ... Hill testified Tuesday that she stayed with her husband mainly for the children. Hill, a law enforcement officer who owned two guns and was trained to use them, said she endured years of brutal beatings." (10/05/06)

I don't know the details about this, but even if she suffered from depression, post-traumatic stress disorder because she was a battered wife then she still hasn't the right to kill anybody.

I agree Tyreal. I mean, I'm not against the concept of reducing a sentance, but how it can be justified for her not to ever see the inside of a jail is beyond me.

It's the same predictable ideological formula, when a woman has committed violence against or killed a man. As Tyrael mentioned, even if her claims were true it's not an excuse to become judge, jury and executioner. There's a thing called "due process" as inherently flawed as it is!
