Finally found a dv video with male victim of female abuse

What a rare thing indeed. Of course it isn't going to be broadcast anywhere by the looks of things and is only a test viral not even a proper one - but still nice to see.

Of course we still don't get to see the female abuser herself but one shouldn't complain really.

I wouldn't mind seeing a followup video showing someone who'd asked the Police for help when his wife or GF attacked him...only in jail where he was thrown when he reported the matter.

Or a courtroom scene where everything the man says is scoffed at and his safety and human needs are considered optional and of little value.

I'm glad that the video acknowledges the shame that male victims of DV face. But something about the video bothers me. He says the word "pathetic" a couple times, but doesn't explain that in all reality, he could have seriously pulverized his abuser. He could have kicked her ass into next Tuesday. He sat there and took it, NOT because he's so pathetic that he couldn't defend himself, but because he lacks the will to leave her.

I fear that the way this video is going to be interpreted by the masses is that this man needs to "man up" and strike some serious fear into the heart of his abuser. Of course, that would give her the pretext to get him locked up, leaving male victims of DV no safer than they were before.

Yes, the shame and pain of male DV victims must be acknowledged. It's one potent reason why abused men don't report on their abusers as often as abused women do. But male victims should be lauded for their restraint against their abusers -- not called "pathetic" because they were too weak to stand up for themselves.

I think this is what some guys who get abused are honestly feeling. But still, the video lacks explanation and instead takes on a "It was his fault" vibe.
