I didn't watch the vids, Haahoo..but I am familiar with the Duluth Model.

It should apply to women as well as men, but I've never heard it referred to in that way.

I cant help but think that virtualy every man who has reached the age of 30 has experienced these behaviors directed towards them from a woman at some point in their lives. I swear that you could substitue the female with the male in every one of these terms and it would be true.

the vids are very good. Rare that I would recomend anyone watch stuff but Mr harry and erin pizzey are well known for thier experience in this field and they make it pretty clear that this is simply male bashing at its worst! just being male is all the reason those dv freaks need to know that someone is born to be a dv perpetrator.

it doesnt make any sense to me. as harry says, a man can react violently simply because of the fear he would have of a womans power over him because of this kind of attitude. a man who fears losing all that matters to him is in fact much more likely to have a vested interest in preventing a woman from calling in the state thugs by subjecting her to such DV.

According to that idiot model everything a man does falls under DV. In turn, this means a man simply can not win unless she allows him to; she holds all the cards...

Note especially the part where it says 'minimazing, denying and blaming', this is a very foully crafted piece under which technically any defense falls under as to make it impossible to counter a claim of DV.

These things make me quite... sad. These kind of things make relationships and women a liability due to the legal power they are granted against men. That's why I believe for the sake of self-preservation men should stop engaging into them. Granted, a relationship that works I would really like which is why the proposition we are faced with is truly most... unfortunate.

another thing--every session had a questionaire that prompted the guys to admit abuse-no matter how small--then they had to hand it in-never to be seen again.

u were also forced to list at least 5 differen't ways that u have been abusive to your partner-or else---whether u were abusive or not.

in the end of the seminar all of the ppl in it had to do a private interview with the convenors of the course-she just happened to be away the day of my interview-lol

If you get into any position where it's possible to see these papers again, take a good quality camera with you. Most mobile/cell phones now come with a reasonable camera. The camera on my phone is a 3.2 mega-pixel (old in today's terms) but it has a feature called 'document mode' which enables focus on near objects, such as text... Disable the flash if you're in a reasonably lit room as the flash will simply bounce back and make it difficult to read (in the photographed snapshot). From there you can have copies of all the documentation they push down your throat and then transfer them to your pc once home. I'd be happy to upload them (if emailed to me) for all to see.
